Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel

I found this in the clearance bin at Walmart and I am not really sure why it was there! I found other polishes, that were not clearanced out...actually thinking back, I was at Walmart earlier and I found this exact polish that was not on clearance. I am not sure why, who knows! I am certainly am not going to complain at all! This is that good of a polish!

Cyantific Method is such a gorgeous Cyan color...also when I first wore this, or well looked at the name, I didn't get it.. Now I do upon writing it for the third time! Cyantific..like Scientific. Get it? I obviously didn't at first. Go figure!

I actually like how this picture came out, only because you can see how it looks in various degrees of lighting. The ring finger (3rd from left) if what the polish looks true to life.This applies so smooth and effortlessly! Like spreading butter over warm toast! Depending on how thick that you decide to apply it, it will take 1-2 coats.

One thing I do want to warn you about, especially if you haave a small amount of nail space, the brush on this is rather large. It however, is still easy to use, even on my pinky, which is my smallest nail. The brush is just about the width of my pinky. I do think that it makes it that easy to apply. This is also in a black bottle, I am not sure if that means anything in particular, but you will have a bit of a time trying to see how much you have left.

I also want to mention that I did not use a top coat. This is pretty shiny on its own!

A Glittering New Years Eve with Claws Up

I was talking to my girl Jacquie (Claws Up) on Snapchat one day (auttyw) and somehow we got on the topic of doing twin-nails for New Years Eve. Heck yes! I was so excited! We finally decided on a design and cue the existence of trying to find the perfect polishes to use. Then cue the stress of oh my polish gods, how am I going to do this dang cup?! Thank goodness for Google Images, you don't even want to know what the OG design looked liked! Calling it a mess was an understatement! I have no shame in admitting the fact that I worked on this way longer than I should have (almost three days) as well as I used the most ridiculous amount of nail polishes!

Lets back up a little bit and just explain what I went through. I had the design down packed and they looked awesome! ...Or well, my opinion of awesome, then it came to top coat them! Y'all know we need that extra shininess in our lives! Cue the huge sighs and freaking out, my top coat made the tips of my nails cloudy! I've had it happen before, but another thin coat fixed it right up! Not this time though, it made it worse! So, I had to go back and fix it and just....added even more polishes to try and cover up the fact that the top coat messed them up!

The freak out and stress aside, I'm actually really pleased with how these look and I can't wait to see how Jacquie's turned out! I'm really glad that we did these together! We are going to have another post together, but of course, I still need to work on it! It's not going to be that difficult though! I love doing collab posts, even though they are few and far between.

Mad props to you Jaq for listening to me freak out because I couldn't find the polishes and that I changed a setting on my camera and the OG pictures were messed up and just no bueno! You are seriously my best frand! I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for you girl!

Thanksgiving Day Makeup

I hope that you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving if you are in the US! Mine was ....well lets just say it went from uneventful and stressful to a party! I thought that this was a nice look for Thanksgiving it wasn't too out there and it combined my love of neutrals with my love of color. You can't go wrong there! I wanted to find a good alternative to Cult Nails Nevermore, since they're unfortunately liquidating their stock...as well as their website is currently down. Nevermore is the best 1 coat opaque black that I've found.

If you're looking for a good black, check out this Wet n Wild Black Creme. In the picture below (I didn't clean it up at this point, this was a base for another mani..sorry) is just ONE COAT. This bad boy is pretty bad a$$. It also dries pretty quick which is another positive.

Golden Bronze Eye Of The Day + Updates

Hello hello everyone!
First off, it's totally okay to shun me, I've slacked so hard this month to the point it's disgusting. From having a horrid case of the flu, to a sinus infection to a cold then back to a minor case of the flu....I've been a total train wreck! I'm finally FINALLY starting to feel better *knock on wood* It was so bad that I had to miss my Nephew's 6th birthday party and I've never missed a single one, total bummer! Thankfully his birthday is actually the 24th, so I can still make it up to him. ALSO! For those who were wondering about the new cats, I'm sorry I've not replied to comments but I figured I'd do a cat update. They're doing good. Anya and Simba are like secret lovers. Ginger is still a bit iffy but they all get along and play. I don't have to stay up all night to make sure there isn't bloodshed anymore, so I'm a happy fur-mom. I post pictures of them on my Instagram if you aren't following me you can see updates about them plus sneak peeks of upcomings on the bloog. I do want to say thank you to everyone for all of the kind words on my last post! <3

Colorful Smoky Eye Of The Day

Today has been the first time that I've put on makeup in ages. Usually when I go an eye look I post them on Instagram  It shows that the last time I put makeup on was a week ago, and that's because I was working on a look for a blog post coming later this week...well, I've had the flu and a horrible time with it as well. I've finally felt good enough to slather some makeup on my eyes.

Part of me wanted POW In your face bright makeup, but I decided to just go with the flow and I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out! You're going to have to forgive me for the fact that the lighting is off in the pictures. I have to get used to using my camera again and the lighting has been a bit of a struggle for me..ontop of the fact that in the preview the pictures look spectacular and in focus and upon importing their complete crap. Hello and welcome to today's unconventional post!

Every time I do my makeup, I try to get a few pictures of it, so I can use it for a blog post, most times I fail greatly at getting pictures that can be used. I feel like I have angry-brows. I really need to get them shaped because they're bothering the heck out of me. That shall be my goal for the next week or something. To get my caterpillars done! Woo! I'm going to try harder to get decent pictures of my makeup though! Instead of sitting and trying to use flash or just the one light. :P I'm such a lazy bones. But alas I hope yo all are doing well! 

Oh! I ended up having to return the Stila and Essence mascaras unfortunately. They both burn my eyes really bad, so instead of trying to suffer and itch my eyes, I just took them back. Plus, I wasn't greatly impressed by either mascara, especially that Stila one, it was full o fail.

I hope your week is going swimmingly! I welcome you all back to another installment of The Beauty Buffs!! I hope you all are LOVING these as much as I am loving doing them for you all! The prompts each post have really kept challenging me and it's re-awakening my love of blogging! I've got a lot of lovely stuff planned in the upcoming weeks! But all of that aside, let's get crack-a-lackin'!

I created this look, oh goodness a month ago?! It was the first time I used the Wet n Wild Flirting At The After Party palette that I had gotten from my Hobby Polish Bloggers Swap buddy. To be honest, I wasn't sure WHEN I was going to upload this, but I figured this would be the perfect time to use it!

That's it. I didn't wear mascara or foundation. I've found that I haven't been wearing mascara as of late... Call me lazy :P I can't even remember which shadows I used out of the palette, I thought I wrote them down, but I can't find the paper! boo on me.

Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain - Pinky Promise

I've been wanting to try balm stains for a while, since Revlon released theirs actually but for myself, I can't justify $9 on something I'll wear a few times and probably forget about. Wandering through Walgreens one night because I was on the hunt for their Spring Collection, after 5 DIFFERENT stores, I pretty much have given up hope for now, so I decided to pick up a couple of things, a 5 pan palette which I've already reviewed HERE and this MegaSlicks Balm Stain. I mean it was only $3 plus it had a $1 off coupon, so you can't really go wrong there! 

 is a light cool-toned frosty pink. 

Why a pink, let a long a frosty pink? Well, I don't really have any light lip colors. They're all bright pink (thanks ipsy), red (thanks self) or other random colors (thanks other people). Plus, I wanted something that was light, that wouldn't draw too much attention too itself. 

Pinky Promise is definitely one of those, my lip color but better kind of deals. Let me tell you, I was expecting to be VERY unimpressed with this, but I was extremely impressed. I mean hello! How gorgeous is this?!

Enough of me chatting about the color. Let's talk about the product itself. For $2.99 you get 3g of product. Which if you think about it, is very generous for the price. The product goes on very smooth and is very pigmented, it pretty much just glides on your lips like buttah. As for wear time, for me I am ALWAYS rubbing my lips together when there's something on it and it does wear it down after a while, I can get an hour or two of color, but this is so moisturizing that it's insane! I have lip balms that aren't as moisturizing as this is! So yeah, I definitely want more! It also lightly stains your lips and considering it is a balm stain that's a good thing. 

For $2.99 this product is an absolute steal! I highly recommend it and I plan on getting more from the MegaSlicks Balm Stain family! They're pretty dang amazing! Wet n Wild has redeemed themselves from the disappointment that I felt over that 5 pan palette.

Wet n Wild Art In The Streets - Swatch & Review

Wet n Wild is not a brand I gravitate towards much for eye shadows. I know they have some gems, but most of the time, the ones that I purchase are mostly disappointing. I was searching for their new spring collection to pick up the palettes for it as per request from Jessica (you can read her blog HERE). Unfortunately, I can't find the spring collection anywhere, so I just grabbed a palette that I thought would be really fun too play with. It was this one (Art In the Streets) or the 5-pan neutral palette. I'm trying to re-introduce color back into my repertoire, so I went with the bold and bright colored one.

Art In The Streets is a 5 pan palette with a purple, bright orange, yellow, medium green and a sky blue. 

I don't think these have any ACTUAL names so we shall just number them in order of how they were swatched.

This particular set is swatched without a primer. As you can tell, the colors are not particularly pigmented. This WAS two swipes though. Like two straight down (or across depending on the pan) swipes to get shadow. NORMALLY I only do one swipe, but I wanted to build them up a bit. I despise when people build up shadows and make them look all pretty, that is misleading and I don't do it. BUT I had to give this a second swipe.

Two swipes again over Milani's Eye shadow primer. Much better right? I did have a bit of trouble with the orange, which I'm sure you can tell. All 4 of the 5 shadows are matte. The purple has a little bit of shimmer in it, which you can see, so I'm not calling it matte.

The shadows themselves are very smooth but there is one drawback, they're kind of chalky. You don't get any fall out, or at least I didn't but these are still chalky. They're very easy too use and blendable. However, you're going to see my biggest issue with these in un momento (aka the next picture)

Le sigh. Okay, I had to be careful to NOT over blend this or the shadows would disappear. I used every color in the palette, with the yellow in the inner corner. I couldn't get the yellow to show up much except for what you see. Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed. I've had a few Wet n Wild palettes, and they've all been duds for me. I think the I<3Matte was the only good one out of all of the ones that I've tried. I don't know. I'm still going to search for their Spring Collection, but I am not having high hopes for the quality of it.

Holiday Nails & Makeup!!

I hope you all are doing well! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! If you don't celebrate it, I hope you had an amazing day as well! xoxo. Most of my "Christmas presents" were gotten later in the day (I bought) or today (the day I type this) I'm not going to do a haul with them, but I'm sure you will all see them at some point!

My nails, I had a vision in mine, but once they were done, great dislike. I didn't feel like changing them either. ALL of my striping tape disappeared so I free handed the tree and the dots, I don't know, it looked good in my head. Bahha. Everyone else thought they were cute, so that counts for something!

I KIND of got the hand of taking pictures with my camera. Excuse the crooked tree, I tried fixing it, but make it worse lol. Check my nubbin's! I need to cut my other hand down as well. It pains me to do it though, which is why it's not done.

I also made use of the little jewel kit that I got 50% off at CVS. I used Bows and Stars for the top of the tree. This mani was a total fail for me in my opinion. Not for others so much. I think I'm going to stick to doing my Mom's till my right hand grows out, since that is the hand I typically use to swatch.

I didn't wear any foundation. I forgot, since this is a NEW camera it will actually show the imperfections in my skin instead of making my face once color. LOL. See! My skin isn't perfect like my previous cameras showed! Yes, I neeed to get my brows done, don't judge :P Okay okay, enough o my complaining. I know you can't see it but this was the BEST picture I could get of my eyes. I THOUGHT the others were in focus but they weren't. I'm going to have to teach Chris to use my camera bahaha.
