Todayy we have a review of Dermalogica's PreCleanse Oil & Wipes.
I've been testing both products out for quite a while now and actually have a video where I demo the Wipes on my YouTube channel, which you can find at the end of the post

What is a PreCleanse? Well, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's Pre-Cleansing your face with an oil to help get rid of your makeup of the day, sebum, environmental yuckies that are on your skin and what not.  You then cleanse your face with either your usual cleanser or the cleanser that was suggested you use from Dermalogica. It's also called a Double Cleanse.

What these products do : Deep-cleansing oil melts impurities and make-up from skin. As the first step in your Double Cleanse regimen, PreCleanse thoroughly melts away layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, pollutants and products that build up on skin, allowing your prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results.

Now I've actually double cleansed my face in the past, but it was with an acne face wash and a exfoliator, so that didn't exactly help get rid of my makeup.. It actually never broke up my makeup or helped take it off, I always had to use makeup remover before and sometimes usually after.

The Dermlogica PreCleanse Oil, kind of intimidated me. If you've been around here for a while, you know how terrified I am of putting oils on my face, regardless of how it's supposed to help or what not. BUT I sucked up my fears so I could give you all a proper review!  Let me just say, I don't know what I was doing before, being afraid of using cleansing oils and what not! This has totally changed my life and my makeup removing game.

I use this in the shower at the end of the night, because that's when I usually wash my face. Now, I don't wear a full face of makeup often, it's become a rarity only for events or for blog posts. I just don't like the way foundations feel on my face, but I applied one just to test it's promise to remove makeup. I also ended up wearing like 4 coats of mascara. It was a ridiculous day to say the least!

The oil took off the greatest majority of the makeup. There was some risidual makeup I was amazed! Chris was even amazed how I didn't look like a raccoon when I got out of the shower. I'm actually really pleased with this product, you don't need a lot of it at all, so when I run out I plan on purchasing more.

As per what I said in the video, I do actually like the wipes a bit mre then just the oil because I can scrub and get the eye makeup off better than just with the oil and my fingertips.

The Makeup Show : New Products

Hey everyone!

I hope you are doing well!

So I'm sure you have heard me talk about The Makeup Show right? You have no idea how excited I am...okay you may know how excited I am...but still. (That was a bit rambly) But seriously, I am so excited to see and meet people from all of the brands!

Quite a few brands are going to be releasing products at TMS.I am SO excited about being able to see new products.

One of the first booths I plan on hitting up is Dermalogica. Why? They apparently re-branded and re-named their Clean Start line, it's now called Clear Start. Why they changed it, I'm not sure, but I LOVED the products when I was using them.

They've added more products and changed the name of their toner, so I am definitely excited to be checking these bad boys out!

Next up is OCC. They will be showing their new Fall Collection. 6 new Lip Tars and Nail Lacquers! This will probably be the first brand I hit up.  I've been wanting to try their products for quite some time!

OFRA is another company I've been wanting to try. They are a Florida based company so that is extremely exciting to me. They're going to be exclusively launching their Semi-Permanent Eye Brow Gels. Now we all know I'm not much of a brow person, but I have been working on them! :D

NARS baby! Whoop. They are going to be introducing their Eye Paints! Oh lawd these I am excited for and from Phyrra's post, you all should be too!

Mehron will be launching their B.L.A.M.E. makeup pens. They're black light active cream makeup for your face and hair. This looks like they will be exclusive to the Makeup Show so if you are going definitely check them out! I know I will...even though I don't have a black light. These look gorgeous and so fun!

Mehron will also be launching their Skin Prep Pro. This is supposed to help increase the wearability of your makeup in high performance conditions. Heat, lights, sweat, etc.Uhm girl. You KNOW I need this! Especially living in Florida this is a perfect product for me. I will definitely be getting this! It says it will be $10, I don't know if that is the show price or what it will actually retail! I will let you know!

They will also be launching Glosstone Pro. These will be available in three highly pigmented matte shades and two sparkly shades infused with tiny light reflectors to pump up the volume by creating the appearance of fuller lips. These sound really interesting!

I wish that you all knew how excited I was for The Makeup Show. I've been waiting for this since last year!!!  I am the most excited about NARS, OCC, Dermalogica's Clear Start and the Mehron Skin Prep!

Clean Start by Dermalogica Overview

So yes, this is the overview of the Clean Start series that I have been doing for the past month! I hope you all have been enjoying them as much as I have been!!!

Basically, I am going to talk about this kit as a whole entity. Since I did purchase the kit and did each individual post, I figured I would do an overview of what I thought about the products.

I really think that this kit is an AMAZING DEAL, Considering it is by Dermalogica. Now, I am not saying that its a bad thing.

You figure for $35 the products will last you quite a long amount of time. The Wash Off alone, took 3 months to run out. All over clear ran out a week or so later. The rest of them, I still have a bit left, the only reason. At one point, I got lazy and didn't use them.  So, figure you can get a good 3 months out of this kit. Which is an amazing deal for $35.

When I went a few days without using the Wash off, my face would break out and get extremely oily, so that is a sign that this works for MY skin. You may have tried something from this and it didn't work for you, im not saying it will work for everyone because everyone's skin is different.

I really can not rave about these products enough at all. Every time I get asked by people I know, what I did to get my skin more balanced and breakout free. I tell them I use Clean Start by Dermalogica. Before I started using this, my face was extremely red in patches and I had a lot of acne. I tried a good majority of the Drugstore acne products, I even had tried the organic ones, nothing worked! I finally gave up and decided to try something on the more "high end" spectrum of products. I had saw Kandee Johnson talking about 3 of her favorite products and there was a ad  on the side of her video for it, so I clicked it and was like :O Oh dang! Gotta try!

I of course read the reviews about it first honestly. I didn't want to just jump into something that was terrible, even though I knew/know Dermalogica is an AMAZING company. (I have been lusting to try some of their other products out) and I just took the jump and ordered it, even though I meant to order the trio that they were featuring as Kandee's favorites, since they were the SAME price. But I am much happier with this kit though.

At the present moment I am 100% out of the Welcome Matte SPF15, Bedtime for Breakouts, and the Ready, Set, Scrub! Sadly, at the moment, it is not within my finances to purchase the full sizes of them. *cries* Planning for a wedding really sucks your money out. Not that I am complaining. But since Ive run out of 3 of them, my face has been really wonky on me, breakouts every other day. Small ones mind you, but breakouts none the less. So, Im hoping to be able to get some within 6 months so I can get my skin BACK under control, since my wedding is November 1st of this year.

Although the targeted age group for the Clean Start line is for young adults, I think that anyone can use these honestly!

All in all, I think that if you are NOT set in your skincare routine, I think you should give this a shot. They are really amazing products and I commend the Clean Start by Dermalogica team for creating such amazing products. They really saved my skin. I definitely recommend buying the Clean Start kit before buying the full sizes of each, since you get to try all of the products. Well except for 2.
The other two products are the Smart Mouth Lip Shine and the Hit the Spot. Id love to try the Hit the Spot, but they were not included.

Clean Start By Dermalogica Ready, Set, Scrub!

Im going to start with all of the details before I get into my review of it. :)

So, as normal, you can purchase this on CleanStart's website , Ulta / Ulta.com or find a location near you that sells it!

This retails for $21.00 for 2.5 FL oz. or 75 mL

It's a masque, it's a scrub, it's a breakout-fighting, pore-refining duo that delivers smoother, clearer, and fresher skin.

That is what the Clean Start website says. I have to say that I 100% agree with that statement. Although I didn't get to use this product as much as I would like too, I still loved it! It says to use it in the a.m., 3-5 times a week. Unfortunately with the size that is given in the kit, there was not much for me to be able to use it 3-5 times a week. It would have been gone within 2 weeks. So I rationed it out and as I type this, I still have just enough for 1 more use. I used it maybe once ever couple weeks.



With this you wash your face then you spread a smooth layer over your face, just like with any other mask and you let it dry for 5-7 minutes, or longer if you wish. Then you wet your fingers and you gently start to massage it into your face, in circular motions. After you finish, you wash it off of your face (like normal).



The color of it is grey-ish white color, you can't tell that it will be exfoliating until you start to place it on your skin. Its VERY gentle. Its kind of like rubbing fine beach sand on your face. Its not scratchy feeling at all. And like the other products in this kit, it has a mild citrus scent to it. Its very very lovely!

So, now you can see what I mean by the color. :) Better seen then described in my opinion! When You let it sit on your face it doesn't exactly harden, that would be a bit weird. I would feel like a stone statue in the shower. Hahah. As it sits I can feel it working its feels very cooling and just overall extremely lovely.

This unfortunately is one of the products that I have not purchased the full size of. Why? Right now I honestly don't have the money, but I do plan on purchasing the full sized! Its a really nice masque/cleanser/exfoliator. I really do love this product. I typically follow up with the Welcome Matte SPF15 and the All Over Clear. I've not experienced any dryness or anything of that nature from using this.

It makes my skin feel nice, soft and it does help to diminish the look of my pores. But it wont get rid of them, nothing can ever get rid of large pores, unfortunately! Haha Don't we all wish that could happen!

So sad that this Clean Start by Dermalogica series is almost over! Its going by quicker than I thought it would! I hope you all are enjoying these posts as much as I am enjoying typing them up for you all!

This post is going to be all about the Bedtime For Breakouts  lotion. Wait, is it a lotion? Its more of like a gel, I guess, but not at the same time. Hm! Conundrum! Hahah.

So just like a few others, the active ingredient is 2.0% Salicylic Acid. If you don't like using Salicylic Acid, then these products are not for you, which is a bummer because they are
AWESOME! This is another one of those products that I have not ran out of yet.. Well, when I wash my face tonight (3.15.12) I will be officially out!

The Deluxe sample size that I have is 0.5 FL OZ or 15mL the full size is 2 FL OZ or 60mL.

This retails for $22.o0, which is not bad. May seem extreme to some of you, but hey, if it works then you will pay it! Its not as expensive as some of those other brands out there (who will remain nameless) that charge $60 just for a face wash. Pft!

This product, if you couldn't tell by the name, is to be used daily in the evening. So you go through your night time routine and put this on. It has an amber color to me and to me it smells like.. well the only way I can describe it is like an herbal tea. Its actually really nice. The smell would obviously come from the potent blend of botanical's that are inside of it. The smell is NOT overpowering and does not stay on your skin for long.

Now when you use this, let me warn you, at first it will be a little sticky as it sinks into your skin, but after that it goes away. Just like the All Over Clear this refreshes and cools down your face. its really lovely!

This is what the back of the bottle says:

This super stealth treatment delivers a potent blend of botanicals to wipe out future breakouts lurking below the surface. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

It also says

Only you and your pillow know: Before going to sleep, blend a thin layer into cleansed skin and allow to absorb.

Now, this does NOT leave a tint on your skin at all, so you wont have to worry about that at all. Like I said previously, it sinks into your skin pretty quickly and its like a little army of acne fighters that keep your acne or get rid of it completely as you sleep! Which is pretty awesome that it does it in your sleep!

Now, I will not lie, I don't use this every night. Why not? I wanted to make this last as long as I could! And sadly I am out of it. So I will definitely  be needing to order this or head up to Ulta and buy some. I need to pick up a backup of the Wash Off and a couple more, so I will have to do that when I have the money, because as of right now, I have about $4 and that wont get me ANYTHING. Heh.

All in all, I really like this product and I feel that it does EXACTLY what it says its supposed to do. It fights future breakouts that are lurking below the surface of your skin, it also helps to calm the redness on my face actually. Not much, but enough to notice and that it always a plus in my book!

Clean Start by Dermalogica Welcome Matte SPF15

This is one product that I have not yet purchased the full size of. Why? Its still has product! You really don't even need that much to cover your entire face and neck! That is what I call awesome!

(Update: I actually JUST ran out of this on 3.11.12 so its time to order more.. when I get the money :( !)


This is a moisturizer with oil controller that helps to minimize shine. It is ia lightweight lotion that in non-comodogenic or in lamens terms, it wont clog your pores! Which is another plus, we don't want our pores clogged with pesky breakouts!
As you can tell, this does have SPF in it, but you should still add extra sunblock just to get extra protection!

The active ingredients listed on the back are Octinoxate (7.5%) , Octisalate (5.0%), and Oxybenzone (3.0%)



The cream inside is white (obviously) and it has a slight smell, which I can best describe as sunscreen, but it does not smell as funky. It actually smells pretty good! It is not greasy at all, it actually sinks right into your skin very quickly! It doesn't give you a white or ghostly look, it actually dries clear. It is also more liquidy that cream. So be careful, you may accidentally squeeze out more than you want if you don't watch what you are doing!



This is one is one of the products out of the set that you only use once a day. In the A.M, which would be obvious since it has SPF in it. Why wear SPF to bed! Hahah. Silly, silly! You only need about a quarter size amount of this to use. Which doesn't seem like a lot, but really a little goes a long way. I apply this to my face and neck. If there happens to be any left out of what I don't use, I will even spread it down onto my chest, depending on what type of shirt I plan on wearing that day.
This product retails for $24 and is 2 FL OZ or 60 mL. Which if you actually think about it, its not bad at all for what it is! And with a little going a LONG way, it will last you a while!

Even though it is not an active ingredient this product also has Salicylic Acid in it to help clean out pores and banish breakouts while is helps to minimize shine and hydrate your skin.

Clean Start By Dermalogica All Over Clear

This is another one of the products out of the Clean Start kit that I purchased from cleanstart.dermalogica.com and have since repurchased.



The All Over Clear retails for $18.00 on Dermalogica's website, you can also find it at Ulta or at a salon located near you that carry's the Clean Start line.

There is 4 fl oz (120 mL) of product in the spray bottle. Thats seriously a lot! It may not seem a lot, but you just have to use two or three sprays of it day and night! Yes, this is another one of those products that is to be used day AND night!

Dermalogica's website says this "This refreshing mist splashes over skin to control shine and keep breakouts at bay. Instantly cools. Instantly refreshes."

I TOTALLY agree with that! When I get out of the shower and dry my face off, I spritz some of this on my face and it feels so cooling! Its really a lovely thing after being in a warm shower! As for the smell of it, when I had the smaller bottle that the kit came with, the smell was extremely strong to the point that it kind of burned my nose and I wouldn't breathe for about 30 seconds after I used this. So when I purchased the full size of this product, I was extremely surprised! The smell was not as strong which makes me happy. Even though I did not mind the smell of the travel sized bottle at all! It actually smells really lovely! It has kind of a citrus type smell to me.

Dermalogica's website also says "Sesame Seed Extract helps control surface oil and shine, especially in the T-zone. Licorice, Burdock, and Argan extracts help hydrate, calm, and shield skin from environmental exposure."

I totally stand by that claim! This spray DOES help control the surface oil on my face! And you all know I have oily skin so having something that will help control the oil and shine makes me extremely happy! Especially in the T-Zone, since my oiliest part of my face is my T-Zone, but more of my nose.  When I use this, is helps to calm my face, it really does. I can feel my face just relaxing and saying "ahhh" (lol) when I use this. Its really just an amazing product!

Not only had this helped control my oil, but its also helped to control my random breakouts that I get. Double duty products are super in my book!

Now as for the sprayer aspect of the bottle, its really interesting. Have you ever seen the tressame heat protectant spray? The sprayer is basically the same, but this one is a higher quality of plastic and is designed better, it is more sturdy.



This also has 0.5% Salicylic Acid in it as an active ingredient.

The Sesame Seed extract helps to control surface oil and shine.

The Licorice, Burdock and Argan extracts help hydrate, calm and shield the skin from environmental exposure! (which is always good!)

The Lemongrass that is in this helps to energize the skin and also helps to revive and tone your skin!

As you can tell, this product has a lot of stuff in it that is good for your skin!  Just like the Wash Off, you can use this product virtually anywhere to help reduce breakouts! I can honestly say that this product DOES work for me, because when I stop using it for any length of time, my face breaks out!

In a nut shell, I really LOVE this product and I can not rave or talk about it as much as I would absolutely love too! Its really that great!

Clean Start by Dermalogica Wash Off

The Clean Start line is more geared towards teens who are acne prone. Now I am 21 years old and I first got the clean start kit, which you can buy at cleanstart.dermalogica.com and it is $35. Now that is a heafty price tag for skin care, even with all of them being travel sized. The reason I decided to look into the Clean start line was because of Kandee Johnson. I saw her talking about a couple of their products and I decided I would take the dive and try it. Originally I was supposed to get the Breakout Trio, which is the same price, but you get 3 full sized products, but the wrong one was ordered, which was okay. I am actually happy with the travel sized ones, because then I got to try them, so I knew how they would react on my skin.

What comes in the kit is welcome matte spf 15 / bedtime for breakouts / ready, set, scrub / wash off / all over clear. It also comes with a sample of brighten up spf15. Im glad that it came with the welcome matte, because I have oily skin and it would have suited me better! :)





Now, for the full sized products, these have a HEAFTY price tag, that I will not lie about. In all honestly, it kills me a little bit when I have to repurchase them. (I will get to the prices in a bit.) When I got the travel size, you would have thought that it would take me not that long to use it, but that little bitty bottle took me a couple months, which was pretty awesome, so I don't really mind spending that much money, because with the face wash, I use a little bit of it and I know that it will last me a long while! This product you can use on your face, back and chest. So its a multipurpose face wash! HOW awesome! :D

This is what Dermlogica's site says "This foaming wash clears up dead skin cells and extra oils to clean deep, banishing breakouts from your face, back… or wherever."

Now when I use the wash off , I don't really feel it foaming, but thats okay with me honestly, I don't need to feel the foaming action to know its working!!
So you can tell that I don't really mind shelling out the money for it, because I know it will last a while. The only reason there is a huge chunk of the face wash is gone from my bottle is because my cat knocked it down and the top came off and a bunch spilled out. Twas a sad day!

I have been using this for about the past 5-6 months. So I know I can do a proper review of it. ^_^

I honestly don't wash my face EVERY night. I know what you are thinking, omg ew, gross! Or what not, but my skin is so weird, if I wash it every day, it breaks out. So yeah, say what you wish. And my skin actually does not get as gross as you think it does when not washing. Anyways, thats away from my point. lol

This is a clear face wash, it does have a light scent that does not stay on your skin for very long. Well, it doesn't stay on your skin at all and you can't smell it, unless you actually go and smell it. Which I did, because I am me. Its clear and kind of thick, not thick like a gel though. It has a wonderful consistency and a little goes a lot way. It depends on how dirty my face feels, I could use the smallest amount that I could (dime size) or I use a little more (dime and a half) So not a lot at all! So you can already tell this will last a pretty long time for me! :D

You are supposed to use this face wash in the A.M. and P.M. . I chose when my face feels the dirtiest honestly. So I either use it in the morning or at night. If I wear makeup I use something else to wash my face. :) I really do love this product. When I use this I can feel my face being clean. It doesn't feel dirty or oily. Its soft and just.. its hard to explain just exactly what I mean. I really recommend this face wash honestly! There is just something about it that works wonderfully with my skin. Its also helped to heal some of my acne scarring from when I was a Sophomore in high school, its even helped reduce redness! Now it does not say that it is supposed to do it, but it honestly has helped! I just really love this product!

Now to the pricing. Its $20 for 6 fl oz or 180 mL. So yeah, it is pretty expensive, but for the amount you use, its worth it.

Dermalogica's site also says this "Salicylic Acid dives deep to help clear trapped oils and breakout-causing bacteria. Botanical extracts help regulate oil production. Orange Peel Oil revives, energizes, and refreshes.
