My Thoughts:

This serum is nice, but I feel that it definitely would be better suited for people with dryer skin. Since I have oily skin I don't think that this is completely perfect for me. While I do really think that this is fantastic, it just did not agree with my skin. I actually felt that it made me a bit more oily. I used this at night because I felt that it would suit me better than using it twice a day. When I woke up my skin felt nice and silky, but it was a bit greasy. 

I do really like that this isn't weighted down with ingredients, I mean 4! That is pretty awesome! I feel that this is priced reasonably considering what it does. Although it did make my skin feel nice, I just don't think it's for me. 

As per the packaging... I'm kind eh about it. I'm not an insane fan of the dropper because if you aren't insanely careful you will get too much. Other than that it is okay.

China Glaze Metallic Metamorphosis

Today I have swatches of one of the China Glaze Transitions Nail Polish that came out late 2012. I've been DYING to get my hands on some of these, but haven't been able to find them until I went to Sally's today. My Sally's has been hiding their clearance section as of late, today this bad boy was sitting on a table right inside the door! SCORE! I snatched up this one and one other one which we will swatch later! I paid $3.29 for this. *dances*

I have quite a few pictures so I hope they look okay! :D

This polish is Metallic Metamorphosis. It is gunmetal grey metallic shimmer. It's supposed to transition to a blue toned gunmetal grey with the addition of a top coat. I want to make mention that all pictures were taken inside under a daylight light bulb (greatest invention ever!) The pictures are pretty true to color for the most part. They come out a little darker, but barely.

Swagger Cosmetics vs. Volturi Twilight - Loose Shadows

As soon as I saw Red Bone in my box from Wantable.co , it instantly reminded me of Volturi Dusk.
(Yes, before you judge this is an eye shadow that is based from Twilight.. I was a HUGE Twilight fan until I saw the first movie.. loved it at first, then it started to depress me. I still love the books, but not the movies. I've not even seen the rest of them.)
Anyways.. These two are extremely similar. .. .

Red Bone is a deep maroon with gold and a slight pinkish undertone. The gold undertone is more prominent in Red Bone. This also has more silver sparkles.

Dusk is the same Deep maroon but the pink/purple undertones are definitely more prominent then Red Bone.

I really love both of these shadows...but there is no real need to have both. You can still purchase Dusk even though I got mine years ago (like when the twilight movies first came out). You can purchase Dusk on Amazon and even on the Twilight Beauty website. (yes there is actually makeup and such based off the movies -_-) You can purchase Red Bone on the Swagger Cosmetics website

I can't say that I prefer one over the other. They are both perfect for a gorgeous smokey eye. Both are absolutely gorgeous if you wanted to do a dark and sexy eye look, or even just to wear just because.. I do that a lot is wear it just because.. :D You could really even take a wet eyeliner brush and use them as eyeliners. Absolutely gorgeous!

Battle of the Matte Reds!

In my SauceBox Cosmetics post, I told you that I was going to be comparing Sugarpills Love+ to Saucebox's Russian Rouge.



Both of these shadows are a TRUE red and matte as well! It is hard to find a GOOD red eye shadow, let alone a good matte eye shadow.

I purchased Love+ back when Sugarpill launched their boutique on Beautylish and have been in love ever since. When I saw that Russian Rouge and Love+ were practically dupes, I had to see for myself. I couldn't help but order Russian Rouge from SauceBox.. It was even better because I used a code from BellaShoot and got 15% off. Unfortunately that code expired, but I am sure that there will be another soon.

(Quick side note, does anyone else have to listen to a specific genre of music when they are blogging? I ALWAYS work better when I listen to a specific genre.. no lie.. okay back to the original post)

Sugarpill's Love+ is $12 for 4grams of product. That is a LOT of product.

SauceBox's Russian Rouge is currently on sale for $6 and.. well I am not sure how much product is in it because neither the website nor the packaging say how much shadow you get. I wish it did. Tis life.

These two shadows look like they are EXACT dupes of each other in the pan.

The only real in pan difference is that Russian Rouge appears darker.. in my picture of Love+, I am not sure why it is showing up orange toned, I can assure you that it is not.

I do want to say that I am the kind of person who does not like to pack on shadow when swatching. This is TWO swipes across the shadow. Also, I forgot to mark this, but these are swatched WITH and WITHOUT primer. Just imagine a line in the middle .. you can find of tell where the primer is anyways and where it is not. Bah

An up closer version of the same swatch, once again please imagine a line across the middle of these two shadows. I am a fool for forgetting it. Forgive me? :(

As you can tell in the swatches, Russian Rouge is more pigmented and brighter then Love+.  They are both richly pigmented, but Love+ also applies a bit splotchy where as Russian rouge goes on smoothly. As for the texture of these two shadows, they feel the same essentially. They are soft, but not silky soft. They feel a bit rough when swatching with your fingers, but you don't notice it when you use a brush.

There is only minor staining with both shadows, considering the amount of pigment you need to make a red eye shadow, it doesn't bother me. All you need is a little extra makeup remover and you are good to go. There is only a slight tint left over, but if you don't know it is there, you wont notice it. :)

In my opinion, out of the two of these, I think Russian Rouge wins the battle. I'm sorry Love+  :( I love you, but Russian Rouge is more pigmented in this case. It is also cheaper being on sale for $6.

You could definitely use both of these eye shadows wet, it would make them brighter and the pigment look even more amazing! :P I do know that if you pack on Love+ it looks amazing, but for two swiping and going on your way, I prefer Russian Rouge.

Urban Decay Build Your Own Palette

I am not going to lie, i have had this palette since it came out. So, it has been a while that I have been meaning to do this. I don't know why I keep putting it off, but I just have. So here it is! My review of the build your own palette by Urban Decay!

It's retails for $18, which is the price of one of the regular eye shadows. This also comes with an eye shadow called Walk Of Shame. I've not used it yet because. I have been waiting to review it. There is also a travel sized eye shadow brush. I really like Urban Decay's brushes. I'm sure this is as soft and lovely as the other ones :)

Urban Decay now offers variations of palette then one I have. I have the original design that they came out with. I have heard that a lot of people have trouble popping the eye shadow pan out of the palette, but for me personally, I've not had an issue with it. It is pretty easy to do. Not only that but if you purchase the regular shadows (which you need to do anyways for this palette) at $18 each, you can depot the for travel use instead of carrying around a bunch of single shadows. You can customize your palette anyway you want.

The fact that this is customizable is the reason that I purchased this, although I have not purchased extra shadows to go in it. You can't use the "Vintage" eyeshadow pans because they do not pop out like the new ones do. The palette also has a really good sized mirror. It's the size of the entire palette. I'm glad that they did that because it is actually a USABLE mirror and not a waste of space.

I think this palette is a good idea, especially because you get an eye shadow that is exclusive to the build your own palettes. In whole however, if you want to fill this palette, it's going to cost a lot of money. Especially with the eye shadows themselves being $18 a pop. That in my opinion is the only downfall for me. I'm sure with time I will fill the palette up, but right now, it is just not do-able for me. :(

Walk of Same is a peachy nude eye shadow that is great for using as a blending color or for under the eyebrow to highlight it. It is matte and has no shimmer in it at all, which makes it perfect for both of those applications. (little side tid bit. This shadow is also available in the Naked Basics palette now. Currently only that palette and this one are the only one's who have this shadow)

Should you get this palette just for this shadow? In my opinion, no.. Now if you are a hardcore Urban Decay collector where you must have it, then more power to you. I however do not feel that this is an absolute necessary thing to have in your collection. Especially since you can only fit Urban Decay shadows in them. The shadows pop in and out of their packaging and they pop in and out of the palette. So they will be secure if you do happen to want to travel with them.

The palette is made out of what seems to be very thin aluminum, so it will withstand a lot. The inside is portion that holds the shadows is plastic and they are not magnetized to the best of my knowledge.

Figure $18 for the 6-pan palette. Then if you don't want to keep Walk of Shame in the palette you are going to have to purchase 6 shadows, or if you keep WoS in the palette you will need to purchase 5 shadows. At $18 per shadow you are looking at $108 for the palette and 5 shadows and $126 for the palette and 6 shadows. So in reality, this is not as big of a "deal" as they probably want you to think. You could buy a Naked Palette and get 12 eye shadows for $50.. Or one of their other palettes and spend less money then you would if you were to purchase this. However, if you WERE to not keep WoS in the palette, you don't get a container to pop it into, so you basically have to either keep it in this, or pop it into one of the empty containers for a shadow you would pop into this.

Now, I am not against this, but I am all about deals and for me, this is not a deal at all. Especially since you can't use the "Vintage" shadows in it. If this is a serious must have for you and you have the money to put out then go for it! But for me personally, I don't see me getting much use out of it at all. :( I've not even swatched Walk of Shame, so who knows what I might do with it. :P

Sugarpill Pigments Review

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a review of the Sugarpill Pigments that I have. I think I've done a review on one before, but I am just going to make this a collective review right now! :P

Birthday Girl is a Princess pink with iridescent fuchsia sparkle. I really do love this shadow, but I sometimes have an issue getting it to show up correctly, or really showing up. I really thought that on the eye it was going to be a lot more In your face.. I guess? I'm thinking if I try it over a colored base this would look gorgeous though!

Asylum is a Metallic red with an orange undertone. There is also silver shimmer. Oh man, I've been looking for a gorgeous red shadow for a LONG while. My Mum told me they didn't make red shadow. LIES :P That is why I love Sugarpill, they have off the wall colors that no one else has! The pigmentation of this is absolutely fantastic! I LOVE wearing this wet or dry!

Tiara is a Metallic Silver. I absolutely LOVE this shadow. This is my favorite of the bunch! Unfortunately I had an accident with this and lost over half of it on myself and the floor. It was a sad day. No lie, it ruined the rest of my day. Anyways, enough about that. I really do love the sparkle and how metallic this shadow is. I've had other metallic silver shadows that were not as fantastic as this! I love wearing this as a liner on top with a little bit of black liquid liner just to define the eye. :)

Lumi is a Snow white with an iridescent turquoise. There is also a blue or green sheen to it! So pretty! I LOVE wearing this on the inner corner. It gives such a beautiful pop of brightness and color to the inner corner of your eye! No matter how colorful, neutral, or dark your eye is, this shadow is FANTASTIC on the inner corner. It's also fantastic all over the lid!

Goldilux is a Metallic Gold. I LOVE gold eye shadows with my eye color and this is no exception at all! The metallic-ness of this makes my eyes pop even more, even when my eyes are a dull blue color they just pop out with this shadow.

All Pigments are swatched dry & wet as well as over a primer and not over a primer. They are NOT packed on because that doesn't show its true color.



I really LOVE Sugarpill's loose eye shadows. They are absolutely gorgeous! Even their pressed shadows are fantastic! If you have no tried them yet, you definitely should! Each shadow's name links to that page where you can purchase it! Each shadow retails for $12 for 4.5g of product. For an eye shadow that is HUGE! 4.5 grams of product is a LOT, that will last you for-freaking-ever! Her pressed shadows are even 4 grams. That is such a bargain for a pressed pigment! I wish to one day own all of her loose pigments and even  pressed shadows. A girl can wish! (no but seriously, want) They also have a deal on trios that you can purchase! For $30 you get 3, which saves you $6!

China Glaze Holiday Joy Collection 2012

Today I have for you the China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 collection!
Or well, a few polishes from it! I think I am only missing 3 polishes though!

(Also, before anyone says anything I am quite aware that my cuticles are in horrid shape. No need to point it out.)

I picked up a set of Mini polishes because I didn't want to get the full sized bottles.

I also picked up 2 full sized polishes.

The Mini set retails for $9.99 while the Full sized polishes retail for $6.49 (without card) I also want to ask, does it bother anyone else when the stickers on the bottom are not on correctly. Le sigh

First up I am going to talk about Merry Berry and Red Satin

Both of these to me scream Christmas. :P

Red Satin is a blue based red creme while Merry Berry is a deep berry red. Both of these are shiny without a top coat and they also remind me of a jelly polish. Don't quote me on that though :P

Both of these also took 3 coats to make opaque.

Winter Holly (L) and Glitter All The Way (R)

Winter Holly is a green micro-glitter polish with holographic micro-glitter. This holographic aspect is as noticeable like in the other two polishes I will show you later on down in the post. This was one of the polishes that I was extremely excited to try out, and I was really disappointed in it! You can tell that it is not applied all over the nail because for me at least, it is extremely hard to work with. Not only that but the brush is extremely cockeyed in the bottle. It's really weird. This in my opinion would be better layered over a dark green polish. This was 3 coats. Also, if you want to use a top coat with this, you will have to use extra to make it smooth, otherwise the top coat just sinks into it and its still grainy feeling.

Glitter All The Way is a clear base with gold, purple, red and green micro-glitter. It reminds me of Mardi-Gras, not Christmas. When I saw a picture that Hello Miss Niki put on instagram, I couldn't wait for her review, I just HAD to have it, that was before I saw it in person. I will use this polish, but in my opinion, it's not Christmas :( This was 2 coats.

I'm glad I got these in mini sizes because I know I will get a better use out of them that way. :) I love Merry Berry and Red Satin, but the other two I would honestly do without.

The next two polishes are the ones I got full sized!

Excuse the language but I have had one hell of a time photographing these! because of the holographic aspect in them, they do NOT want to photograph nicely. Its really annoying because they are so gorgeous!

Angel Wings is a gold micro-glitter with holographic micro-glitter as well. You only need two MAYBE three coats of this. Depending on how you want it to look. I didn't have high hopes for this but I actually LOVE it! I really love putting a burgundy color with red. They compliment each other so well!

Glistening Snow is a silver micro-glitter with holographic micro-glitter. This is the one I have been raving about the most! It is also the most used out of all of them! I actually think I may have to go and pick up a back up or two because I absolutely LOVE this polish! It glistens so beautiful with and without a top coat! This is a 3 thin coat polish. That is what I would recommend.

This is seriously the best captured picture I could get of this! It was with a couple thick later of a top coat, which made it want to peel right off of my nail. SO I stuck it to my desk and there is stayed! Low and behold is did come in handy though! Isn't that absolutely gorgeous! All I want to do when I have this polish on is wave my hands in the light :P

Just a little side note, but to get a glitter nail polish off easily without any hassle is take a cotton ball and put some nail polish remover on it and place it on the nail. Now you can put tin foil over the cotton ball and your fingers to full enclose it on your nail, but if you are in a pinch and out of tin foil like I was a while ago, just stick some tape over it to make t stay on your nail. Let it sit for around 5 minutes and slide it RIGHT off of your nail! Off comes the glitter polish without any hassle of rubbing your nails like crazy :) You can also do with with nail polishes that stain your nails! :)

Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candle

Helllllo!

I have a type of review that I have never done before, its on a candle! I am doing this review because I think that you all should go out and buy this! Holy crap it smells absolutely amazing!

Around Fall time I start going crazy with pumpkin scents, and I mean crazy.. <_< >_> When I got this in my Influenster box, I almost piddled with excitement! (not literally) This smells JUST LIKE A PUMPKIN CUPCAKE! Oh my gawll! I honestly barely burn it because I don't want it to run out! :(

This candle brings me some serious joy when I am feeling blah because it perks me up and I remember all of the amazing things about the Fall time! This is only my second Slatkin & Co. candle but I am foreseeing a serious addiction to these! I absolutely love Bath & Body Works products and this is no exception!

I feel that these are so worth the money! Not that the mini ones are expensive (they are on sale right now 2 for $5!) Honestly, I am so thankful that I got this scent. I just can not say enough good things about this! I am terrible at writing blog posts about candles so I am sorry that this is pretty much not a "review" its more of an omg you seriously need to own this candle! I'm hoping it is still there after the wedding because I am SO going to get a full sized of this so I wont feel guily burning it. Haha

NYC Individual Eyes Influenster Review

Today's review for you today is one of the products that I got in my Influenster box late last month. I've used this palette a few times and I  figured that I could go ahead and do a review for you now! =^_^=

 

The palette I am going to talk about is from NYC and it is the Individual Eyes all in one palette (is it called the all in one palette? No idea) Anyways, the one I have is created for brown eyes and is called 938 Union Square. Now with palettes like this you don't have to specifically get the "one" created for your eye color. It is merely a suggestion of colors that would made said eye color pop. Anyways I was super excited to get this palette! The colors look so pretty!





 

 

Now in this palette me you get 4 shadows, 1 primer and 1 illuminator.  The 4 eye shadows are a highlighter, an all over lid color and they give you TWO choices for crease colors. I really like that idea! I also really like the idea behind this palette, you can just take it travelling or throw it in your handbag and have all that you would need! Now I don't throw out the sponge applicators. I do use them once in a while, I don't see why people throw them out. That is just me though. Unfortunately I did swatch/use this before I took pictures of it. Bad Autty! :(

Packaging wise, I feel that this very sturdy. I don't feel like it will break in a suitcase if you are travelling with it. :) It's a very hard plastic, which is nice! It doesn't have a mirror which okay with me, it is also just a smidge bulky, the lid goes a little higher than I feel it should. I don't have a problem with it though, but for those who don't like packages like that.

I want to talk about the primer and illuminator first.

For me personally, I do NOT like this primer. The first time I used this it creased within maybe 15 minutes at the most. I do have oily lids and this is VERY creamy and I just feel that it doesn't work very well with oily lids. I'm going to test this on my sister, so it might work better on people who have a more dry eye lid. As for the illuminator. Oh my gawll!  I actually really like this. It is another cream product that does have VERY small amounts of silver glitter in it, but it doesn't transfer, at least not that I have noticed! I use it in my inner corner to brighten everything up and its so lovely! It takes quite a few hours to fade as well!



I would show you the looks that I created with this palette, but unfortunately I had such an issue with photographing the looks I came up with. The eye shadows just did NOT want to show up. :( So bummed.

As for the eye shadows themselves, they are quite lovely. You get a creamy light highlighter color(matte), a mushroom taupe-brown(matte), a darker copper-brown(shimmer) and a dark plum purple(shimmer). You get two mattes and two shimmery colors, which I really like because I like using a mix of both so it is really versatile.  The two matte shadows are really buttery and soft while the two shimmery ones are a little harder in texture. I don't find them chalky at all and they are easy to blend.

You can tell that you definitely need to use a primer with these. With swatching all I did was run my finger over it one way ONLY ONCE. So I did not use multiple swipes to get the swatches. The highlighter is also the same color as my skin so it didn't show up at all. But it should give you some type of hint of the color.

 

This palette retails for $4.99 and you can purchase them wherever you can get NYC. I feel that this palette is a total bargain considering what you get in the palette itself.  I do recommend this palette and I can see myself using this palette a lot for a quick eye since everything is in one place. I am really considering going to purchase other ones to play around with!

Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes

This is a review of a product I received from Klout a WHILE back. I've been using and testing the product out extensively.. Considering the entire package was gone. I wanted to make sure I could give you a really good review of them. As of anything else I get from Klout, I got it sent to me for free. I am not affiliated with Klout of Aveeno, nor am I being sponsored or paid to do this review. All opinions are my own, so lets just jump right into it!

 

Now, I was excited when I saw that I was able to try these. I have been looking for a good makeup removing wipe for a while that wont break the bank, or break my skin out. So needless to say, I was excited when I got these in the mail. These wipes are not exactly cheap I guess, I didn't realize that until I checked their price in the store. They retail for around $6.99 for 25 wipes. Now the price varies depending on where you live, but this is the price for them where I live. Yikes! I couldn't believe it!



These wipes are Noncomedogenic (wont clog your pores), "Oil-Free", ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested. Meaning it is safe to use around your eyes and safe to use on your skin. NOW, as you might have noticed oil-free is in quotation marks. Why? Well, I swear to you that these were/are the greasiest makeup wipes I have EVER used. I swear it felt like I was just smearing oil on my face, it was horrid and my face did not feel clean at all. Yes, it did get my makeup off but the greasy feeling was way too much for me. After I used these I had to immediately wash my face afterwards or I broke out. Kind of goes against the Noncomedogenic claims, but that is just my skin.

These wipes are targeted towards people with sensitive skin, which I tend to have. I have a little mix of ALL the bloody skin types. That is a fun thing to deal with! Anyways, I just really.. I just couldn't get into them. YES, I did use them up because I am not going to waste them, I just figured out to wash my face immediately after. I didn't feel like it removed the oil as they claimed to do because they just made my face MORE oily. I am just on the fence about these to be honest. They weren't that great at getting the makeup off, if I wanted to get my makeup TOTALLY off, I had to use two wipes.

I know some people love these and some people hate these, which is why I am on the fence. Personally for me though, these are a no-go. I can not recommend these at all. I have tried other Aveeno products before and they were all fantastic, but this one just falls flat for me. :( Which stinks because Aveeno is a lovely skin care company!
