Own Skin Health Refining Moisture Night Cream

Hello Lovelies!!

Today's post is a part of my Skincare series. Honestly, I've been slacking hardcore on this! I was supposed to be already finished with this entire series, but with moving and other various things that have been going on, it just got put on the back burner. along with other things. BUT, I am back with a vengeance and my fruity booty is ready to work!

I got this product from iFabbo for free, that fact does NOT change my opinion in anyway. So with that being said this product is available at Ulta and retails for $24.99. Own is a Anti-Aging skin care line that is formulated to work with your own bio-chemistry. (scientific aye?!) I really love that aspect of the products this company makes. This product is a Retinol-free formula. It Does not cause irritation, redness or flakiness. It is Dermatologist-testet, Fragrance-free, Paraben-free, and Sulfate-free. This product is also Cruelty free, gluten free, non-GMO and Vegan. So it the brand itself is pretty sweet. 

I've been testing this product out for a few months and while I do like it, I definitely think it would be better suited for someone who has drier skin. I myself have oily skin and since it is getting hotter here in Florida, my skin has been more oily. So for me, this is more of a Winter moisturizer than a Spring/Summer moisturizer. This does NOT free greasy at all and I really love that it sinks into the skin rather quickly. Those are two qualities that I really look for in a moisturizer. I'm not too crazy fond of the smell though which really stinks because it is such a wonderful product. When I put it on at night and woke up, my skin was luminous and felt rejuvenated. 

I definitely recommend this if you have more mature skin, or just dryer skin period. For someone who has oily skin, it is definitely a bit heavy for me. Oh! It is worth mentioning that this did not break me out or make my skin flare up in any way, which I also greatly appreciate. 

What is on my finger right now, is MORE than enough for my face, it actually could be a little bit too much actually. A little bit of this goes a loooong way.!

Potential New Makeup Series?!

Hello my lovely people!
I hope you all are doing well!

I just wanted to spew out a quick post while I'm working on posts for Anjolee as well as a couple of other posts which I don't want to get into at this moment!

Okay, so! Back in 2012 I did a post called "How NOT to do your makeup and go out in public" kind of thing..I know it was a bitch title and the post was kind of bitchy too...Actually now that I think of it, this happened right around the time I was fiddling around with moving my blog from platform to platform so while it says 2012 it could have been 2011...I guess we will never know! Anyways anyways. I know some people liked that post and thought it was comical.

When I worked at Hess, I saw some of the most ridiculous makeup that you have seen in your life. Oh the life of working in a convenience store and the life of living in New Port Richey. Crazy people man. Anyways! I'm thinking of doing it again, just to have fun and play around with makeup more. Plus, you all will NOT believe what these people slathered on their face!

I don't even think I'm going to call it a series, but I do need to come up with a name for it.

What I do want to point out and make clear.
1) I will not be posting pictures of the people who's makeup I am recreating.
2) I will not be mentioning anyones names. (IF I know them)

 This will all be done purely on my face and it's done in good fun. It's not in anyway making of of people or crap like that. Plus, it'll give you all some comedic relief to laugh at me with the amount of makeup I slather onto my face....my skin already hates me!

My Thoughts:

This serum is nice, but I feel that it definitely would be better suited for people with dryer skin. Since I have oily skin I don't think that this is completely perfect for me. While I do really think that this is fantastic, it just did not agree with my skin. I actually felt that it made me a bit more oily. I used this at night because I felt that it would suit me better than using it twice a day. When I woke up my skin felt nice and silky, but it was a bit greasy. 

I do really like that this isn't weighted down with ingredients, I mean 4! That is pretty awesome! I feel that this is priced reasonably considering what it does. Although it did make my skin feel nice, I just don't think it's for me. 

As per the packaging... I'm kind eh about it. I'm not an insane fan of the dropper because if you aren't insanely careful you will get too much. Other than that it is okay.

Grand Central Beauty Skin Perfecting™ Polisher

Hello everyone! Today for you I have a review of Grand Central Beauty's Skin Perfecting™ Polisher! This is one of their newest products to hit the shelves. It came out recently back in February! This product exfoliates, peels and tones the skin in ONE step! How awesome is that?!
This product is made with fruit acids, botanical's and polishing beads. This product is the first of it's kind so that is a very exciting thing in general! This is also for all skin types.

This retails for $38 for 1.6fl oz (30mL) It seems like a lot of money BUT you only needs a small amount. So this is definitely worth the money and it definitely will go a long way.

Wedding : The Dress!

Hello everyone!
I am finally going to get around to some of the Wedding blog posts. No lie, but I've kind of been avoiding it. Not for any particular reason, it's just a lot to cover and I bloody forgot to take pictures of everything. So I feel like it is a waste to talk about something when you don't have a picture of it!

First off, I am going to talk about my Dress, since that is one of the most important things about a wedding. Hah. I found mine at Davids Bridal on clearance. Which was exciting to me because I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a dress I would wear once! That seems stupid to me! >_<

I payed around $260 on it I believe. Don't quote me on that though! I do know that you can still purchase it online. (HERE) as per if your store carries it that is something you would have to check out yourself. This is "last season's" dress, but I really could care less. Red wound up becoming one of the MAIN colors of the wedding even though it was fall themed. Twas kind of funny.

I'm waiting on the "Official" pictures, but I will show you the picture that my Aunt took.

As you can tell, the dress doesn't exactly fit me like it should. I do want to mention that I DID have this re-sized the WEEK before the wedding and it fit me amazingly then, but it wound up being too big (again) on the day of. Figures right?! I also want to mention that when I purchased this, it was a Size 26.. well it still is I mean. I actually could have gone a few sizes down, but they only had a size 26 or a size 12. And girrrrrl let me tell you, you are NOT getting me into a size 12! :P



You might also notice that I don't have my glasses on! They broke 20 minutes BEFORE the ceremony and couldn't be fixed. Bloody figures right!?!?! Just my luck. Oh well, I did perfectly well without them! Actually, to be honest, because I didn't have them on I was extremely calm. No one freaking tear came out of me O_O,  was not even medicated! (inside family joke)



Anyways, so my Grandma Morgan who is like a god with basically everything (:P) took the dress in for me. ( I still have to get the dress dry cleaned, the floor where the reception was, was disgusting and it translated to my dress.. then again I was having too much fun "swishing" around because it had a train that didn't come off. Hey, I was having fun. Don't judge :P



I really do/did love my dress. The scalloped edges were beautiful, and even though you can't see them in the above picture, the detailing of the red flowers and such, was absolutely gorgeous! There was even iridescent sequins and white beads!

I know those two pictures are not the greatest, but they are the only ones I have of JUST the dress at the moment. Please bare with me until I can get the pictures from my Grandmother :P.

I do promise that I will add more pictures when I get them. :) I do have quite a few at the moment, but I'm not going to share them all just yet! :P

Sinful Colors - Innocent

Hello Lovelies!

This weeks Sinful Colors nail polish is Innocent. It is a Chartreuse green. I absolutely LOVE this color! It is so vibrant and just gorgeous!

 





This has no shimmer in it and has a nice shine without using a top coat.

As for wear time, I am not going to comment on that because nail polishes wear terribly on me.  :)

 

This is two coats on my nails. As you cal tell depending on the lighting it can come off as Chartreuse or a yellow/green. I really think this is a fantastic polish and color!

Sinful Colors - Unicorn

Hello everyone!

 

This weeks Sinful Colors nail polish is Unicorn.

 



This nail polish is a gorgeous soft yellow cream. I don't have any nail polish like this in my collection so I HAD to pick it up when I saw it! (sorry about the gross nails right here)

 

This nail polish is a lot thinner than I thought it would be honestly. It took me around 4 coats to get it opaque enough for my liking.

I am sure I could have done more but I thought this was good enough for me. :) ( In the left picture, that is my screen casting a shadow, has nothing to do with the polish) I really do like this nail polish. I don't wear it often though because it can be too much and look funky with my skin tone.

 



With the 4 coats that I needed to do for this nail polish, it took around 15-20 minutes for it to dry completely, so this is NOT a nail polish that you would want to do if you were in a hurry. Unfortunately that is the case, even as beautiful as this is!

 

As for wear time, this has a pretty decent wear time for me. I can wear it up to a day before it starts chipping. Not very long huh? Unfortunately for me, that is the case with my nails, it wear different on different people, so please keep that in mind. This is still a gorgeous nail polish though! :)

Sinful Colors - Nirvana

Hello Beautiful!

This weeks color is Nirvana. A mushroom taupe. I have been looking for a mushroom taupe color for a while now, but I wasn't really looking that hard. :P



For me this polish only took 2 coats! When I first used this I was very surprised it only took 2! Just looking at it, in the bottle it looks like it would take more. Boy did this nail polish prove me wrong! Haha.

As for the dry time of this nail polish was under 5 minutes. Which I like, because I wont be sitting around like a bum for a long time waiting for my nails to dry. That is what makes or breaks a nail polish for me is dry time.



You will have to forgive the blue stained fingers. Unfortunately the day I swatched this polish, I decided to do Savage before it and my nails stained like a B. I probably would have done a 3rd coat, but I felt it was unnecessary. Also! there is no top coat. :) Au natural :P

Sinful Colors - Leap Flog - Review

I hope you are all having a lovely Monday!

This week I am going to talk about Leap Flog. This particular color is from the Study in Style collection that came out in Summer 2012. When Leap Flog came out, I remember the blogosphere going crazzzzzzy over this color. It apparently was the only "new" color in this collection. Of course I got excited and went to buy it. <_< No shame.

I absolutely love the dark teal-green color of this nail polish. I don't have anything like this in my collection. Well at least I didn't. Hah



I found that with this particular polish I needed at least 3 coats to make it opaque. Which is okay, only needing 2 coats would have been nice though. However, I probably could have gone with a 4th coat. :( I wish it didn't take as many coats because total dry time, for me at least is 10 minutes. Which means for 10 minutes I can't do a dang thing, because I will smudge a nail polish in an instant if I try to do something.

You are going to have to excuse the state of my nails. I didn't clean them up before I took the picture. this also is WITHOUT a top coat. As you can tell its super shiny. Me like! Baha.

I really enjoy wearing this color. :) As for wear time, I am not going to comment on that. I have terrible luck with nail polish, they always wind up chipping within hours if I am not careful, no matter the brand, top coat or base coat. So.

Sinful Colors Savage - Review

This is the first blog post/review in my Sinful Colors series! 

Savage is a matte teal nail polish.

In the pictures down below I used two coats of polish. However, you could definitely get away with only using one! It is THAT opaque!

I absolutely love this nail polish! It is so lovely! There is one big downfall about it unfortunately! :(

It stains!

I don't mean it just stains the nail beds, it stains everything! You have to be really careful when removing it or as you rub, it goes all over the skin. it takes forever for it to finally fade if you do happen to get it on the skin around your nails.

This polish has a pretty good dry time. For me it was dry within 60 to 90 seconds. Since it it matte, you can pretty much tell when it is dry by how matte it looks. Which I like.

 

This polish retails for $1.99, but Walgreens does sales where you can get Sinful Colors polishes for $0.99 which is the best time to get them in my opinion!  They are a definite steal even at $1.99 and I think they are totally worth the price!

Mario Badescu Silver Powder - Review

Hello Lovelies!

This review is a loooooooong time coming. Literally, I meant to do this so long ago honestly, it just got put on the back burner.

I had never heard of this product until I was wandering around the skincare section of Ulta. I figured that I would give it a try. I mean, what could I lose right? It's not like it was going to burn my face off. Or was it?!

Dun Dun Dunnnnnn!

I am only kidding! Nothing burned off of my face, it is still there 100% :P



This product retails for $12 for one ounce (1 oz.) of product. Which is actually a lot of product considering you do NOT need a lot when using. This is made for those bloody stubborn and excessive black heads. Let me tell you, MINE are bloody excessive and a pain in my butt to get rid of! They are on my nose and chin mainly, but I do have some on my cheeks and forehead. *sigh*



When I use this, I honestly use it like a mask, all over my face. You use this once or twice a week, waiting 10 minutes with it sitting on your face and removing it. Now, it says to remove it with a toner or an astringent. Honestly though it is a (excuse my language)
bitch to remove using a toner or astringent. I had to use WAY too much of my toner to try and remove this and it barely took any off. I recommend washing your face to remove this then apply your toner or astringent to your face. When I was using the toner to take it off, I was using to much that it started drying my skin out, which is a big no-no to me. (and probably you)

Seriously though. That is the ONLY way to get it off without wasting your toner or astringent. Do I feel that it works differently when taken off with water? Neh, still works the same in my opinion! When I first used this, I only applied to my cheeks and my nose and it was still way too hard to remove. I had use at least a half of an inch out of my brand new bottle of toner. It doesn't seem like a lot, but trust me, it was.



I do love this product though! I noticed results the FIRST time I used this! I could feel it working as it dried for the 10 minutes. It was funny feeling, but you could really feel it working deep in your pores. It does leave a little bit of residue in your pores, even after cleansing and toning. It is not a lot by far and after a minute or two you don't notice it anymore.

The texture of this is powdery at first. When you take your damp cotton ball and dip it into the powder it turns it kind of into a paste type consistency. However, as it starts to dry, depending on how thick you apply this, it starts to go powdery again. Even if it is not a thick layer it goes powdery. When it does that be careful! Bahaha



The only ingredients in this is Calcium Carbonate, Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.

I do want to put a caution out there!

If you are using this near your nostrils, be careful! I have in hailed some of this before and it was the most annoying feeling ever. Think of accidentally getting flour or something up your nose. It kind of shocks you at first then you choke a little bit. So be aware of that and just be careful!!



 I really recommend this powder though! It works nicely, even though its a bleep to remove if you are using a toner or astringent. If you do plan on taking it off with that method, please don't use an "expensive" one. That way you don't basically waste your toner.

Sinful Colors - Upcoming Series!

Hellurrrr!

 

I know I haven't been able to stick to a "series" lately, I just keep getting overwhelmed by trying to do too much. Its shameful lol. I have a new system of blogging though, but that is a different post!

 

Yes, I do know what has been going on with the whole Revlon (revlon now owns SC), stealing a couple of bloggers pictures and what not. I'm not going to go over the story, you can google it. :)

 

While I do NOT agree with what Revlon did, honestly I am not going to pretend that this company fell off of the face of the Earth. No, but Autumn, what about... *interrupts* No. No but Autumn anything. This is my blog, I huhshall speak of what I want too. :)

Any bloody hoo.

I do enjoy Sinful Colors nail polishes. They are affordable and have a huge range of shades and finishes.

I do not own many of their polishes, for I am trying to cut down on buying nail polishes. *cries* Chris' decision NOT mine. .. mean guy huh!? :P not really haha he just doesn't understand. Hmph.

St.Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control Scrub

The first one I want to talk about is one that I had a long while ago and it was abrasive on my skin, so when the tub ran out, I just didn't buy more and I ended up forgetting about it.

I saw someone talking about it on twitter and I figured that I would give it another go, I was new to skin care when I had purchased this and probably used it wrong anyways. The St.Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control scrub is what I use for my exfoliator currently. This time I just bought the tube of it. (Do they even make the tubs of it anymore?)

This is oil-free and has 2% salicylic acid in it. I do still find that it is abrasive on my skin, but not as bad as before. I don't use much of this, a little goes a long way. To be completely honest, I use to mix it with my Wash Off. You need to be careful when mixing face wash's because they could have chemicals in them that react to each other and it could cause a reaction, but nothing bad ever came of me mixing the two so I continued to do it.

This is paraben and phthalates free, so that is a plus. The exfoliating aspect of this is walnut shell and corn kernel meal. I really like this scrub, has it helped to control my blackheads and blemish's? Not really, not that I've noticed at least. It doesn't dry my face out at all, but its a really nice scrub. I don't use this often, maybe once a week because it is so abrasive on my skin, but I do really like it. I more than likely will re-purchase this ones I run out of it, which will actually be very soon!
