Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anita

Anita is described as a browned burgundy. It’s a deep, dark brown with reddish-burgundy undertones. To me this is more brown then burgundy BUT you can definitely see the burgundy in it. It’s incredibly pigmented, and as is par for the formula, a little goes a long way as it always is with Lip tars. 

If you've never had a lip tar, they do have a minty smell, but it's faint. It does smell really nice, so it's not something that you have to be overly worried about. I found that with this lip tar, it did seem a little thin to me, but it isn't a problem at all. I do advise though that you shouldn't forget to line your lips with at least a CLEAR lip liner or something. Now since I don't have a lip liner I usually don't wear this because it feathers on me like no other. I do wear this when I wear foundation and I use my concealer to line the edges of my lips to help kind of deter Anita from snaking it's way into the fine lines that I have. 

Anita is such a gorgeous color and while it's not my "go-to" I have found myself wearing it quite a bit in the recent weeks. You can wear this where it's not too dark and I will show you what that looks like down below!

It's ALWAYS exciting when there is OCC anywhere to be found. Even though I only have a few of their lip tars, I am head over heels in love with this brand. I really need to get more from them! I've got quite the list of lemmings from the brand!

The set comes with FOUR Test Tube (aka mini) Stained Gloss shades ass well as a mini #10 Precision Lip Brush (show below)

This is the PERFECT brush for applying stained glosses or lip tars, which is why it comes with the set.

Now, the difference between Lip Tars and the Stained Gloss is that SG's are sheer instead of full coverage. These are perfect if you are nervous about wearing a full on lip color (like me). 

Hedonist - Intense Pastel Pink

Hedonist has to be my favorite shade out of the entire set. This was the color that I thought I would like the least. The pigmentation of this is absolutely stunning, even for a gloss! I really can see myself getting a LOT of use out of this shade.

New Wave - Glassy Neon Pink

I actually expected this to be more "pow" because of how it looks when it comes out of the tube. I'm actually really surprised and like that it's not as neon and bright as it looks in the tube. 

Jealous - Red-Orange Shellac

This shade I'm a bit disappointed in because I don't get the "red-orange" color like in the tube. To me this is more of a light pink shade. Other than the color not matching the tube (on the lips at least) I must say that I am pleased with the color it comes out too.

Little Black Dress - Sheer Glossy Black

When they say sheer, boy do they mean it! That's okay though because this is actually incredibly wearable! I could definitely see myself wearing this. I think this was thrown in to not only wear alone, but it's nice to have a very sheer black to mix with the other shades to create your own.

All of the glosses applied very easily and I didn't see any feathering with these like I do regular Lip Tars (I don't own any lip liners), so for me that is a plus.

Like James Vincent said during the blogger preview. These test tube sizes are perfect because a normal person would never go through an entire tube of full sized Lip Tar or Stained Gloss and I fully agree with him!

Cranberry Smoke

I had no idea what to call this post. I asked Chris and he said "Hazel me blue"...men..especially him lol.. Silly silly.

This is a look I did the other night just out of the blue, I was going to work on some Halloween makeup looks until I realized I barely had any makeup remover, so it resulted in just ONE look for now. I know tomorrow is Halloween and I'm going to try and work on something awesome! I just hope that it works out! I need to see if I have the costume for it. >D Anyways, so this is the look I came up with! Thank you too Tricia for helping me think of a name! I was hung up on something else, but it didn't fit and Chris' definitely didn't fit at all! :P

So for this being an on the whim look, I like how it turned out ! I used to really love doing dark looks many moons ago, and I'm starting to like them again! I would do wear this on Halloween!

Work Appropriate Eye Makeup

This isn't one of the looks that I was going to do for Halloween, but I kind of forgot to write down the list of products that I used before I jumped on the computer, so that will be the next post coming up! First I do want to show you all a perfect example of a work appropriate eye. Now, a lot of people aren't able to wear bright colored shadows to work, When I worked at Hess, we were supposed to only wear neutral shadows but luckily I had 2 managers who were totally okay with me wearing funky colors eye makeup as long as it wasn't something that would interfere with work and what not. But this example is a good one of something that could be apropriate in all kinds of settings!

On Instagram, taking pictures through the lens of my glasss has become a kind of typical thing for me. Especially since people are always asking about makeup that is appropriate for glasses. Girls/Guys wear whatever you want! It's all glasses apropriate! ..well except for maybe crazy false lashes! :P

I REALLY love how this turned out! Then again I'm sure I've done this look pleanty of times! I'm sure you're all tired of seeing me doing neutral looks though! :P

I figured that to spice this look up a little bit I would pair it with two lip colors!
The first lip color I used was L.A. Girls Glazed Lip Paint in Hot Mess.
I think this is a gorgeous orange-y lip color that could definitely work, well for work!

The second lip color I went with is much darker and it's Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anita.

This is probably my darkest lip color and while I LOVE wearing it, I rarely do! Y'all know that i am NOT a lip girl, but I'm trying to change this! I applied this very lightly to give it more of a sheer look!

The Beauty Buffs - Royal Blue

Bought Myself/Gift/Nothing To Disclose

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of The Beauty Buffs!! .. Okay, why I called it an episode I have no idea, I thought it was funny. *bah dum tss*

This weeks theme is Royal Blue and I figured that since the last TBB post I did nail polish, I thought I would do makeup this week! SO, I had gone out in search of a nice royal blue eye shadow and found the Maybelline Expert Wear quad in Electric Blue. I guess, it is new? I don't know, I've never seen them before and it was $2 off I think so I decided I would get it. I'm going too tell you now, don't waste your time, It's not that great. The pigmentation is lacking. WELL, low and behold AFTER I bought it, I remembered I had Sugarpill's Heartbreaker palette in it, which has Velocity. A gorgeous matte royal blue. BAM, have my eyeshadow. *dances*

I decided too use the blue in the Maybelline quad as well as Velocity, and I used a mixture of colors from the Crown Cosmetics Smokey Eye Palette. 

The three shadows with the arrows pointing too the are the ones I used. I didn't use them in any particular order, except tap my brush into each a couple of times.  I added that into the crease and blended out. BUT wait! There's more. I also used Sugarpill Velocity in the crease. I used it as the original outline of the crease then I blended a bit on the top of the crease to give it a little something extra,. 

On the lid I applied lightly the Royal Blue from the Maybelline Electric Blues palette. I should have added some of Velocity on top, but what is done is done.

On the lower lashline I mixed the royal blue and the black shadow and smudged it across.

You are probably asking yourself WHY so many pictures and WHY pictures of both eyes. WELL my dears, I did both eyes different. On my left eye I didn't wing the liner and I didn't bring the shadow up as high as I did on the other eye. You can't tell particularly but the liner on my right eye *below* is winged out and I brought the shadows higher up towards the brow bone.

I really love how this came out! I've been itching too show everyone the look since I completed it a couple of nights ago! 

Here's the finished look with the whole face! ... I don't know why I said it that way but I did. A lot of people say don't wear blue on blue, brown on brown or green on green. I say, do what you want, it is your makeup and it's YOUR face. Makeup is an expression of art, don't let others dull your shine!

The purpose of this is too give you some more blue options. I understand the 3/4 makeup choice are high end, but you try too find GOOD affordable royal blue shadows. :P I got lucky I found the Maybelline one, and the palette itself isn't that great,
