Revlon Just Bitten Lip stain & Balm Forbidden - Review

Purchased Myself

I was looking for reviews of this particular lip stain + balm, but there were practically NONE. So I'm making an assumption that this was not a popular color.
Forbidden from a packaging perspective looks it it would be a nice purple-y nude color. It indeed is a nude but on me it leans more purple-y red then anything. This balm would be perfect for Fall and Winter.
I don't know if these are supposed to give you complete color or just a little. I'm a newbie when it comes to lip stains, can you tell?
Forbidden while, it looks dark, only gives the lips a slight hint of color and that is with building it up. I didn't experience any feathering or bleeding with these on the lips, swatching them on the back of my hand is a different story altogether.
This is about 4-5 coats of the lipstain and as you can tell, it just barely tinted my bottom lip. Scent wise, this reminds me of a fruity wine.
The only thing I added was the balm and you can see that it does look more pigmented. So maybe the key is to use the balm with these. The balm itself doesn't have a scent to it that I noticed. I didn't find Forbidden to be drying, the balm does give extra moisture and shine.

With all of that being said, I'm not crazy impressed with these balms. The Lipstain+Balms retail for $7.99 (depending on your region) You can find this particular one on Clearance at CVS though for under $3.

Revlon ColorStay Shadow Links Plum & Lilac

Purchased Myself

I've seen the display for these shadows every time I walk into Walgreens and normally I just pass on them. I've not really heard any buzz or actually really anything about these shadows. In fact I've had ONE blog post about them come across my computer, that is IT! On Christmas I decided to pick up a couple of these and for $2.99 you can't really pass them up in good conscious anyways. The Cashier compared these to the Urban Decay build your own palettes, I'm no sure if she was talking about because you can create your own "palette" or quality wise. I told her we would see how these held up against UD.

Lilac is just that, a lilac with fine silver glitter in it.

Revlon Parfumerie - Autumn Spice

Purchased myself

Have you ever been so obsessed with trying to find a polish that it just bothers the heck out of you till you can find it!? This one did it for me! It was a mixture of the color and the name, but i went on a great nail polish hunt for this bad boy. After about two weeks I finally found it at Wal-Mart for $4.98.I looked like a complete jackass too when I found it. There was some jumping up and down, dancing, and I even said a few choice words I wont type here. Bahah. I was THAT excited.

As gorgeous as this polish is, my excitement dwindled away there. I'm really bummed about it as well. No matter how long I let this polish dry, it smudges and chips in under 12 hours. I've tried it with and without a base coat, I have used different base coats, nothing helped.

Look at that! Ugh this is such a gorgeous polish!! I wish that I could get it to work out on my nails! Me gusta mucho! Mmmmmph.

Formula wise, it's gorgeous and the polish itself has kind of a cinnamon scent too it, which I like. It's not over powering at all so I can wear it and smell my fingers like a total creep in public! :P

HOWEVER, my Mom totally had better luck with this polish then I did. These are her nails in the pictures because I totally gave up trying to swatch it.

She likes the polish a lot. For her, she can smell this out in public or when in the car. Me on the other hand, not so much. I can't smell it unless I am physically smelling my fingers. This also has lasted with NO chipping, smuding, etc. Go mom's nails!

I purchased this myself with my own money. All opinions are my Mom's and My own.

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! :D Thanks to my Niece I've got the stomach flu so I'm dealing with that, which is why I've been so lax on getting anything up. :( Complete fail. I know you're tired of excuses so let's just get into the haul!

Chris bought me this stuff as an early birthday present, since my birthday is next week (Dec.19). I also have a great feeling that I have some totally awesome coming my way for either my birthday or Christmas but I'm not telling! :P

Neutral FOTD

Hey everyone.

I've totally dropped the ball on a lot of things in the past three months, especially blogging. It has been taking me 10x as long to get a blog post up as it normally does. I've not only dropped the ball on blogging, but just lief in general. The only reason I am sharing this is because I want to be as real as possible to you all. I've got nothing to hide nor would I try and hide anything. Things have just not been going well with me and it's been one thing after another. This month especially has not been going well and I more than likely just have to cancel everything that I was planning on doing, which is not going over well for me. Why is it not going well? It's something I've been looking forward too for a year. It's insane and honestly it's extremely depressing for me. Okay enough about my woes and sorrows. To kind of lighten the mood, I put on a movie I've never seen and I'm slightly creeped out because the woman just sensually touched a piece of chocolate. Weird much!? The movie is Requiem For A Dream. Never seen it but Jared Leto is a hottie. :P

Lets get all into it and talk about this FOTD!

This look was pretty simple to put together.

EYES:
Urban Decay Naked Palette ;
Buck (crease)
Half Baked (lid)
Virgin (inner corner)
L'Oreal 24/hr Power Volume Black Smoke Mascara (top&bottom lashes)
CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara (top lashes)
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye liner in Perversion

FACE:
Revlon New Complexion One Step Compact Makeup - 004 Soft Beige
Rimmel Stay Matte - Creamy Natural

Yes, omg I actually did put a foundation on! :O Gasps all around. It was a really simple thing that I slapped on it a couple of minutes!

I hope that you all are doing well!! xx

FOTD 14

Hello Loves!

So, I don't have an excuse for being lax on the blogosphere. Chris and I worked almost the entire week trying to get the new house ready. Not going to lie, it was pretty damn strenuous on my muscles and body. I'm not used to doing that much work, or that hard of work anymore. Needless to say for the past 2 days I've not left the couch. It's a good burn but ugh it hurts to move :P. It also took my want to really do anything blog-wise. Terrible but I was so exhausted! So now I am here, noming on some french fries (don't judge) and just all around going to type up a few posts. :) I hope they don't disappoint! :P
Anyhoo

When you are feeling drab what is the first thing you do to make yourself feel better?
Me? I take a shower then do some eye makeup! What is better than that!
I know most people take a day for themselves, do a face mask, etc. But not for me. Maybe later in the day I will manage to actually do a FULL manicure, but who knows! :P

This is me post shower. Wet hair and clean face :) Ahh I feel so much better!

This is me Post eye makeup with a little bit of concealer on le pimples.

FOTD 12&13 -Updated

Hola everyone!
I FINALLY got some down time before we head over to the house to start cleaning it again. It's going really well and I'm actually really enjoying it! :D

These FOTD's were done a couple of days ago and I posted them on Instagram, but haven't had time to put the post up.
UPDATED 07/16/13
I found the list of product I used for this look! Woohoo!

While I can't remember all of eye shadows I used I can remember everything else.
UD Primer Potion
L'Oreal HiP Pigment - 314 Rebel (lid)
Urban Decay Pigment - Protest (outer corner/crease) discontinued
Sugarpill Acid Berry (inner corner)
UD Naked palette - Darkhorse (lower lashline)
Mica Beauty Creme liner- Black
L'Oreal Waterproof Carbon Black mascara
Revlon Lash Potion - Blackest Black
UD 24/7 Liner Perversion
Revlon Colorstay eyeliner - Black (tightliner)

Now, for this one I can remember, only because it's super simple.
UD Primer Potion
Sugarpill - Velocity (crease/outer corner)
Acidberry (lid)
Mochi (Inner Corner)
Whip Hand Cosmetics Therman (inner corner)

That's it! :) I didn't use any liner or anything in the second look. I wanted something super simple.
Normally I write down what I use or leave it sitting on my desk but honestly, I was so busy that I kind of forgot to write down what I used :(

=^_^=

So, I'm considering on getting some guests post done on the blog. I wont be able to post much until Chris and I get moved out and I always feel bad when it's lax on the blog :( If you are interested just email me at
auttywblog {at} gmail {dot} com :)

Adios Amigos! I hope you all are doing well! :) I'm happy to say, even though my muscles hurt, it's a good hurt, I'm finally off my plateau and losing weight! Squee! :D So excited and happy!
Oh! Cult Nails is having their pre-sale today of her newest collection! GO check it out! It's $60 for 6 polishes. They are GORGEOUS! I wish I had the extra money, but I shall live. :) I'll eventually get them!

FOTD #11 Neutral Eye w/ experiment at the end!

Hola!

I hope you are doing fantastic!
Today is one of those days in Florida where it's kind of dank and rainy out, I'm not going to lie, it's kind of one of my favorite kinds of days. I'm not much of a heat/sunshine kind of girl. *shields self* I think I turned into that kind girl when I found out all of my allergies, so I kind of just stay inside to not deal with the allergy issues, which doesn't help lol. I need to get a crap load of allergy medicine. Hah!

Any-poodle.

Today's FOTD wasn't really inspired by anything Chris and my Brother want to go bowling today and I didn't want to wear anything too crazy because it's going to get hot in the bowling alley. Don't want to sweat away some boss eye makeup LOL. Really though, I opted for a neutral eye today.

This is definitely NOT the shirt that I plan on wearing, I kind of forgot to change it before I decided to oomph my hair up and do my makeup lol. Figures I would be the "genius" to do that :P

Revlon Lash Potion Review

The Lash Potion is a part of Revlon's Grow Luscious line. If you are not a fan of the regular Grow Lucious'  brush then you may not be a fan of this mascara. The wand is similar but it's not as "bushy".

Revlon's Press Release Says Revlon Lash Potion drenches lashes with a potion of strengthening proteins for captivating volume and length. Lash Potion work to nourish lashes so they reach their fullest potential - looking lush, long and lustrous. The lash Potion's "Illusionist Wand" has wide grooves to instantly coat lashes in formula for maximum volume and brushes to comb through for a clump-free length - in just one swipe! There are not smoke and mirrors here - just enviable, long, voluminous lashes.

#FOTD 10 & #NOTD Ft. Ninja Polish Floam!

Heyo everyone!

Today I have a combined post for you! I decided not to do my FOTD post on Saturday like I had planned.
Not only that but I have a special polish for you from Ninja Polish! Ugh I love it! I got this polish from the lovely Corrinne from Galactic Lacquer for winning her blog anniversary giveaway! I love her blog and envy her nails so definitely go check her out!

Floam is a really popular polish, I remember seeing it a while ago and wanting it back then, but it slipped off my radar and I am not sure why. Imagine how excited I was when I won! Eek. That f'real make my week!
Floam is a matte neon blue and green/yellow fine glitter in a clear base. The base to me is a little bit yellow, but I really don't care. It makes the polish all that more beautiful!

For my FOTD I went with Sugarpill. I saw Vintage or Tacky do her "Speed Tutorial" and she used some of the colors out of the Sugarpill palette and it stuck in my head and I was determined to do it! =D It came out a lot better than I thought it would honestly.

FOTD #9

Hello Beautiful!

Today was just one of those days honestly. It basically consisted of a LOT of sleep, trying to get all of the Benadryl out of my system. My face also is a little rashy looking, which is just meh. I'm not enthused, but I'm not worried, I guess I need to do another oatmeal face mask! If you want to see what it consists of (3 things for real) and what not and how to make it let me know! It really helped last night!

Anypoodles, I was just playing with some stuff today, I did kind of my "every day" eye but I used different products. =^_^=  I also am going to add to pictures, they go with the FOTD but they also have a story behind them. Lol.

If you want to see what I used click to find out!

FOTD #8 - Blogger Inspired

Hello everyone!

This FOTD is inspired by a look that A Brilliant Brunette did a couple of days ago on her blog. It's her Ocean Sunrise Eyes look/tutorial. I absolutely LOVED it the moment I saw it and wanted to re-create it.
Granted hers looks a million times better, but hey, I tried. That's all that counts! :P

Check out my re-creation after the jump!

FOTD #7

Hello everyone!
Today's FOTD is pretty basic. I had tried something different earlier and it definitely did NOT work out... Pft figures right? My plan for today was something basic, I've not done my everyday eye look lately so I wanted to do it but put a little spin on it!

Check out what I did after the jump!

Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation

Hello Loves!

Today I have a review for you on the Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid foundation. This foundation came out I believe a month ago, it's still a extremely new product anyways.
When I was in Walgreens, I knew I needed a new foundation and I figured that I would try this out. I mean why not?! It's new and I can do a review on it. Not only that, but I was EXTREMELY  surprised at the price it was only $9.99! The last foundation Revlon came out with was around the $15 mark, depending on where you went. That was at least how it was for me.

This is what Revlon claims about this foundation::
"Makeup so refreshingly light, it melts right in, creating a fresh even look. So the only one that knows you are wearing makeup is you. Blends seamlessly, buildable coverage."

I do have to agree with Revlon on their claims. This foundation is extremely light in consistency. It's almost watery compared to other foundations. It does even out your skin tone (to a point more later) with one layer. I didn't have a problem blending this out and it built up nicely. I don't notice any type of scent associated with this either, which is extremely nice. Overly scented things make my allergies go CRAZY.

I did not have a problem picking out a shade for this which was nice. It's hard to find a good foundation match at the drugstore. Revlon also has a interactive guide to help you choose a correct foundation for you. Did I use it? Of course not, I didn't know there was one until I read Nouveau Cheap's blog post about it. Figures right? The foundation I picked out though was a nice match to my skin.

There are sixteen shades of this foundation. Unfortunately from what I saw, it doesn't go dark enough for you dark chocolate ladies, which in my opinion stinks. I love when companies have a shade range to fit EVERYONE.

I applied this foundation around 7pm and as I typed this review it is around 10:20pm and I unfortunately have to report that this foundation might have to go back to the store. This foundation did oxidize a bit from when I put it on originally. Unfortunately as well, I have a very oily nose and the foundation has already broke and the oil has shown through there. Which stinks. :( It's also POOLED in my pores, making them practically punch you in the face. I did use a primer with this and even set it with a powder and on my it only lasted a few hours. It's honestly really disappointing in my opinion. In some of the pictures you can even see where on some of my dry spots (yes I have them :( ) the foundation even STUCK and didn't blend at all. Shame shame.

I can't complain too much since I got this on buy 1 get 1 half off, so I paid less than $4 for this, but it's such a bummer because I was really hoping that this foundation would work well for me. Oh I think I forgot to mention I got shade 150 Nude

This foundation also has broad spectrum SPF 20 in it. I didn't find that there was a white cast with this. (yes I took pictures with flash) It's just such a shame that this did not work out for me. :( Back to Walgreens it goes.. You can purchase this anywhere that you can buy Revlon products. The price could also vary according to your region as well. :)

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think of it?!

FOTD 4.07.12

Hey everyone! I know I said that I would not be really doing any blog posts until my thumbs heals. Well! Its doing okay, hurts if I move it the wrong way, but its healing pretty well!

I really wanted to do this blog post because I managed to get 100% dressed on MY OWN! Now, you may think its silly to get excited about that, but when you don't have a thumb to hook your bra or to zip your pants, being able to get 100% dressed and do BOTH of those things, you get excited.

Haha.

So I managed to do my makeup and even do my liquid liner. Crazy excited!

Im trying a new foundation, but its a secret which one it is. I will let you know very soon though! :)
