Anya's Corner ; Soft Paws

Press Sample

Hello everyone!I hope you all are doing well!

I randomly stumbled across Soft Paws randomly when looking for stuff for Caturday. I know that I have missed way more Caturday posts then I have actually completed, but work has been getting to me. I work two stores quite a lot and I've been working late on Friday's and never have the time to get anything typed. It's slowed down a bit, so I'm going to work on cranking posts out! I also want to come up with a name for these posts instead of Caturday. Any suggestions?!

Anyways.

Soft Paws was designed/created to be an alternative to declawing your cat. Now, I have considered declawing Anya, we almost did when we got her fixed as a kitten but ultimately I decided against it because I didn't want to put her through all of that extra pain. I didn't know much about declawing, but I did adopt a declawed cat years ago. She still scratched at walls like she had her nails and what not, but of course it didn't do anything, unfortunately we don't have her anymore. :( When I stumbled upon the brand, I kind of stalked their page reading what people were saying, I googled reviews and everything. The main reason I wanted to try these out was because she likes to swipe at my Niece and Nephew, she isn't very fond of them because they used to terrorize her when she was a kitten, and they're starting to learn their lesson now. I know it's not nice to say, but it is what it is she doesn't use her nails, but on the times she does it's a little scratch. My biggest thing is the scratching. She's tore up a door frame as well as some of the wall. You should have seen what she did to the apartment wall! -_-
I chose to get the Silver and Blue glitter. It's actually hard to decide which ones to get because they have so many to chose from! I had Chris, My Nephew and Niece help me decide. It was a unanmous decision for the Silver and Blue. Each kit contains 40 nail caps, two special adhesives, applicators and complete instructions. The entire kit retails for $18.95, which is actually a steal for these! I've seen ones at Petco for far more then this, although I can't find them now.
The caps themselves are very soft so you know it wont be uncomfortable for you cat to wear. Any doesn't even seem to notice that they were there.I can't think of the kind of material that these are made from and it's bugging me.It's one of those, I KNOW what it is but for the life of me I can't think of the actual name!

The glue they give you to apply these, smells like super glue, but I don't really think it is, since it's not exactly safe for animals. It dries very quickly so there wont be any down time for your cat.
The Applicators fit right ontop of the glue so you can get is down into the ends of the caps, so you can make sure there is enough glue, so they stay on. Definitely don't try and overfill the cap, you don't need that much glue.
The Instructions are VERY easy to read and understand, and that is something that I am grateful for. When it comes to Anya, I like to make sure things are easy to understand, that way there is less of a chance of screwing up.
Application wise, for the first time is was super easy ONLY because she was asleep. It was a complete dream to apply them! However, when I had to replace one of the caps, because it fell off (which that's what they do when their nails shed) it was hell. I did them myself the first time, but the second time, I had to have Chris help me and we probably could have used another person. EVERY single time I went to put it on, she freaked out. Only because she wasn't sure what the heck was going on.
These look so bloody cute on her! I can't get over how they look against her fur. I decided on two colors because she has two colored paws, plus I thought it would be fun! The destruction has pretty much stopped, even though she still scratches (all cats will), but she isn't tearing things up anymore because of the caps.
I'm pretty grateful that she can't tear anything else up. Aren't these the cutest things you have EVER seen?! I was dying when I first put them on her because she looked so freaking adorable!
In the end, I am extremely pleased with these and I think they're a FANTASTIC way to get your cat to stop scratching/tearing up your furniture and walls without having to declaw them. Declawing a cat can be very very dangerous and painful for you cat. I know that no one wants to put their animal through any extra unnecessary pain.

Soft Paws comes in different sizes. Kitten, Small, Medium and Large. They give you a guide to help you decide which size would be better for your cat. You can even put them on Iguanas, Ferrets and Rabbits. Also Soft Paws is available for dogs! I didn't know that until Traci brought it to my attention!

Caturday : Ridiculous Cat Is Ridiculous

Go ahead, shame me, slap me, tell me off. I know I've missed 3 Caturdays! I'm very sorry! I've been working ridiculously stupid hours at work, I'm not talking about long days...I'm talking about working between two stores and my hours forever being different. It's a giant face palm I've been working mornings and afternoons on Saturday when I'm usually closing. I'm not complaining though! My paychecks aren't $50 anymore which is good with me! ANYWAYS. Back to Anya.

Anya herself hasn't done much of anything in the past three weeks except avoid me and the camera. I'm glad she hasn't swatted it yet! :P I did manage to capture a couple of moments that I am so glad I captured!

I feel like I should put this
SOURCE ubercomments.com
on the picture! :P Bahah that's at least what it makes me think of!

We were going to do a review on her favorite toy BUT unfortunately Chris being Chris, accidentially broke it in half. -_- It was a sad day for Anya. She's still not happy with him over it! I did buy her some new treats that she loves though! So maybe that will be my next review? I don't know, we shall see!

Her toy being broken, didn't dampen her spirits to play with things though! Anya of course being... well Anya decided to take up a new sport. Knock Mom's ring down while she was putting lotion on her hands. No matter how many times I picked it up, she knocked it back down -_-.

Step One: Pretend you're looking at something else while you contemplate how you're going to get away with knocking the ring off of the table.

Step Two: Bat at it slowly, even though you're being told to not do it.

Step Three: Keep batting it off of the table and watch it fall, acting like you didn't know it was going too fall off.

Step Four: Repeat if they keep putting the ring back!

Also, don't judge me for having "The Ring" yes, it's in Silver but I don't do gold.

One last picture!
I know that it is blurry BUT, you can't deny that face. Can you tell that she was getting mad at me for taking pictures of her! It's the last picture I took and you can tell that she was so over my crap! :P

I'm going to be coming back in full force to blogging. I've got some makeup palettes to review and swatch as well as a few exciting things! Don't forget to enter the giveaway that is being held with Reviva Labs and the Central Florida Beauty Bloggers.

Caturday - Temptations Cat Treats Review

I hope you all are having an awesome day! Thankfully it's the weekend right?

Today's Caturday post is a review of Temptations cat treats. I have two different "flavors" and both are the "Cheezy Middles" Chicken and Tuna. I'm sure you're asking "How exactly do you review something for an animal?!?" Well, I'm going to review it from MY perspective on how she reacts to the treats. If Anya doesn't like it, she wont eat it and it also depends on how quick she eats them.

The serving size for these are 15 per every 10 pounds. Anya doesn't get 15 treats in a day. 4-8 depending on if she's been a jerk or not.
Chris and I tend to just mix her treats together in a wooden box that we've purchased for her. It makes it more exciting for her if she hears the treats rattle in the box. She comes running full force and typically knocks things down in the process!

First up we have the Tuna & Cheese.
You can't tell that there is actually a "soft" inside unless you break it open. Squeezing the treat yields it being hard and that's what I assumed until I actually broke it open to see if the inside was indeed soft.
This is her, "why the hell is your hand in my face?!" face :P
She REALLY doesn't like having her picture taken honestly.  It's ALWAYS a fight with her. With my old camera (NOT the DSLR, she used to knock it right out of my hand. She had it timed and would sit there and wait just until the picture took to either knock it out of my hand or move) Smarty pants.

The Chicken and Cheese are generally the same with the exception of well, it being chicken and not tuna. The cheese itself is different in these ones as well.
All in all, I know that there isn't much to this "review" but from what I have observed, Anya really likes these. She doesn't eat things just because she can and we try to limit what she gets treat wise. I can't even tell you how these smell because my nose is stuffed and I can't smell anything! Boo, that is the downside to being sick. She does seem to like the chicken and cheese ones a little bit more than the tuna. Anya isn't much of a seafood cat, I know she's weird.  If you were to put two piles of treats in front of her and tell her to choose which ones to eat first, she goes for the chicken. Does that down play the quality or taste of the tuna? Of course not, each cat is different just like humans. We all have preferences as well as they do.

I think Temptations are fantastic treats and they have different kinds for any kind of finicky cat. They're affordable as well which is a plus! Each bag retails for around $1.50 at Walmart.

What kind of treats do you give your cat or Pet?!

Let's Welcome Caturday's!

Hello everyone!

I hope that you all are doing well! I'm introducing something new too the blog to try and spice things up. (sexy right?!) :P

Basically Caturday is going to be every Saturday and it's going to be all cat related. Toys, treats, reviews, etc. You all should know I'm obsessed with my cat and she is posessive. So I figured why not share her with the world! I do want to mention that this may not be every week. I'm going to try and make it weekly though, but there is only so much she does LOL. I'll make an effort to take more pictures of her! At least she doesn't slap my Canon away like she used too do with my Point and Shoot Sony Cybershot.

I kissed her with Urban Decay Anarchy Lipstick. She never even knew. :P

Boss Cat is NOT amused by my antics :P

Let me tell you more about Anya.
She is going to be 4 years old May 2014
She is a Tortoiseshell cat with a major tortitude.
She loves sleeping, playing with her stick, eating, and being a jerk.
She loves treats and attempting to get outside.
She doesn't always look angry, she looks extremely cute the greatest majority of the time, until I bust out the camera and the "claw".

Are ya'll excited about Caturdays?! I'm really excited to start sharing some tid bits and doing reviews!
