This is a really simply way to cook eggs. I find that this is a whole heck of a lot easier to bake the eggs then to boil them because with boiling them, they tend to get over cooked, as well as there's all these steps and just nah. Too much! I'm going to tell you a simple way to cook your eggs. It's perfect for the Holidays as well because all of those Deviled eggs that you've got to make if you have a large family and all of that jazz!
First make sure the rack in your oven is clean...as well as make sure your oven is clean. You can line the rack with aluminum foil if you want. I did it once and just found it easier to set the eggs directly on the wrack.
Set your rack in the center of the oven and place your eggs on the rack. Now you can put a pan under the eggs if you want to and are afraid that they're going to break. I've had shells crack, but they've never made a mess.
Once you have all of your eggs placed how you want them gently push the rack in and set your oven to 325°F and set your timer for 30 minutes. Make sure the oven is COLD when you put the eggs in
That's it! It's really as simple as that. 30 minutes at 325° and you'll have perfectly cooked eggs.
When your eggs have about 5 minutes left start to get your Ice Bath ready to cool them down and to stop them from cooking. It doesn't really matter what material your bowl is made out of. Plastic, metal, ceramic..whatever. Just make sure you have enough ice and water.
Once you remove your eggs from the oven (i usually use tongs) I let them sit for maybe a minute before I start peeling them.

You can put as few to as many eggs as you would like when you make these, the time doesn't change. I've done a huge batch like shown to a small batch of 3 eggs.
Have you ever made your eggs like this?! What do you think? Would you try it out?!
Nice! I've always just boiled by eggs but I'll have to try baking them since it seems to work just as well.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely try this next time! I find boiling pretty easy but I don't like babysitting the pot on the stove.
ReplyDeleteThat's my biggest issue, I never keep an eye on the pot and always end up boiling the eggs until they crack and become insanely over cooked. It's also a super easy way to do lots of eggs for Easter egg hunts!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I used to do it but I never pay attention to the pot. It's just easier for me to bake them anymore.
