When I was working at Busch Gardens, I was always in the sun, so I was always wearing sunscreen, but my lips were getting very chapped and dry to the point that it was painful. So, off to the drugstore I went! The first one I bought was a tinted lip treatment from ELF. I must say I do NOT recommend that one at all, its very waxy and actually feels, smells, tastes absolutely disgusting. I've found way better ones that I love more from Burt's Bees, Neutrogena, Blistex, Panama Jack, ETC.
But how should you go about choosing a lip balm if you have chapped lips?
You want to look for lip balms that have ingredients such as petrolatum, Shea butter, hyaluronic acid, and dimethicone. Those are all good at restoring moisture.
You don't want to get balms that are waxy, and viscous. You want the ingredients to penetrate the fissures, not shield them from being penetrated by the awesome goodies to help un-chap your lips!
If you have Chronic lip chapping though, I would suggest looking for a lip treatment that contains ceramides, that help restore the skin barrier.
My all time favorite lip balms are the Panama Jack lip balm with SPF 45 & Palmer's Cocoa Butter lip balm. Those two are the only lip balms that I've ever finished.
I also like the Burt's Bees, Blistex lip balms are nice... Just in general, Im not discriminatory of lip balms. Lol. If I try it and don't like it, I wont use it.
I hope you all enjoyed this post!
