Hyd For Men Trio

PR Samples
Hola everyone! I am so sorry this took forever to get up. Getting Chris to give his opinion on something is like pulling teeth! Then, my laptop broke and I was without that and the pictures were on the laptop. Totally bogus past couple of months I have been having! Bah, but without further adieu lets get on with it!

Hyd For Men sells everything else you might need for that clean and close shave. I decided to grab these from the iFabbo shop for Chris, because I figure what the heck, why not?! He needs to shake up his routine a little bit.

Shave Cream
Not only did Chris use this but I did as well. I wanted to test it from a womens perspective.
Chris said that the first time he used this, it didn't lather up on his face at all and it wound up clogging the razor blades. Not only that but he also wound up nicking his face in a couple of places. He's going to give it a couple more shots, but right now he doesn't have much of a good opinion on it. He thinks it is because his facial hair is so thick that the cream just doesn't do much for him. He normally uses foams on his face.

Myself personally, I really like this. Not only does it smell absolutely AMAZING (think orange creamsicle), but it's one of the nicest shave creams that I have ever used. It's pretty dang luxurious. I've used this quite a few times and I got such a close shave that it was like I waxed, but without the pain. My skin also felt extremely moisturized! Just wow, I really love this. But in the end, I probably wouldn't purchase this even with as much as I liked it. It's kind of expensive for a shave cream to be completely honest. I normally just use my conditioner or a body wash.
Retails for $12.99 for 150 mL

Ingredients: Aqua (Deionized Water), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe Vera Gel) Juice,Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine,Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Leaf Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Mineral Oil, Hydrolyzed Wheat Proteins, Hydrolyzed Wheat Proteins, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin-E), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea) Extract, Dimethicone, Sodium Stearate, Citrus Aurantium (Orange) Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Carbomer, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Aceteyl Hexapeptide-8, Titanium Dioxide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Buffer Stick

Chris said that this was nice, but he forgot to use it most of the time. He did notice that it helped reduce the amount of ingrown hair he gets. The hair on his face is extremely thick and coarse. In the end he said he wouldn't pay the $24.99 for it because it wasn't that important in his routine. He felt that it was a bit more money than he was willing to part with. He also mentioned that it looked like it had glitter in it and he didn't want to look like a sparkly vampire.

Retails for $24.99
Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Aluminum Oxide, Nonyl Nonoxynol-150, Water, Sodium Stearate, Dipropylene Glycol, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Ferocactus Wislizenii (Cactus) Extract, Orchis Maculata Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Arctostaphylos Uva-Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid, Caffeine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Lauryl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, PVP, Trihydroxystearin, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol

Razor Shield

This is the only product we didn't test, so neither of us can really attest to how it works. Chris normally uses an electric razor and you can't use this on electric razors. While he thinks that when he does go back to regular manual razors he will give this a go in the hopes of saving some money because we all know how expensive razor blades are.

Retails: Classic 15mL (shown) $17.99 - Starter 5mL $6.99

Ingredients: Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe Vera Gel) Juice, Petrolatum, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Isopropyl Palmitate, BHT, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Australian Tea Tree Oil)

In the end, none of the products were really a big hit with Chris, which really stinks. I had high hopes for these. I'll continue using the shave cream but I'm not sure what to do with the rest of it. I know I'll find something to do with them so they don't sit around. I do feel quite bad that these didn't work out.

BzzAgent Schick Hydro Silk® Razor

Happy Friday! Gorgeous!

So, I really dropped the ball on this review, I really thought I had it already written in my notebook. NOPE! There is a total of 3 actual blog posts written in the notebook and about 10+ pages of nail polish formulas. Shame on me!

Those of you know about BzzAgent (if you don't check out bzzagent.com) what it's about and about the campaigns etc. I fortunately was offered a position in the Schick razor campaign, which I am thankful for because I desperately needed a new one! Chris was getting annoyed because I keep using his! D: (pft men!)

To be completely honest, I am not picky at all about what razor I use. No shame in that, I don't care if it's made for women or men. The only thing that I am really picky about it that it has to have more than 2 blades or I feel like it's pretty useless, but that is just me. This bad boy (or girl) has 5 blades, so I am a pretty happy camper. Since I knew this was coming, but I didn't know when it was going to be here I didn't shave my legs, or anything really because I wanted to test it. No point in getting it then waiting for your hair to grow.. so figure my hair grew for about 2 weeks, it wasn't anything special but it was to the point it was annoying me. I tried to get a picture (gross I know) to show you the length of the hair, but the damn camera wouldn't focus. Oh well! Chris is going to let me test it on him >D Muhahahaha.. lol... but we've not had the time. (busy bees) Enough about my hair legs :P

I was not sure what to expect when it came to this razor honestly. I want to talk about the blade and the handle before I get into anything else. The handle in my opinion is a bit weird, it has a weird angle too it. Not that it is a problem, but it just has a very weird gold, at least for myself it does. The head/blade swivels so it will definitely hug all of your curves and what not when shaving. The sheer size of the head though did worry me. I've found that every time I use a razor with a head that big, I ALWAYS knick my legs without bloody fail. Thankfully, I didn't knick my legs (or anything else for that matter) ONCE with this, kudos for that. As for the whole "moisture strips" thing-a-majigger, I'm not too fond of it. I don't really mind it, but they always dry my legs out more. The moisturizer in this isn't too bad, but I just don't like how it's placed on the head. Honestly, if you don't dry the razor off after you use it, the moisturizer basically dissipates out of the holes. Per the holes, it's kind of gross but their hairs that are small enough to get in, basically COLLECT there. Bloody hell. There isn't even a way to get them out.

As for how the shave was, eh. I had to go over the same spot twice honestly just to get a good shave. There was still a bit of stubble left on my legs after one pass. I'm not disappointed in this razor, I do feel that it has some faults, but all around it is a decent razor. I honestly can deal with the whole having to go over the same spot twice, that doesn't bother me. This does make your legs feel absolutely fantastic, until the moisurizer dries, then I suggest using your own lotion, because my lefts felt like a desert. I did shave every place a woman shaves.. (it needed to be said) to test this out and it was okay. Once again, not my favorite. I did find that this worked fantastically on my underarms, but it made the hair that grew back in other places, kind of uncomfortable, because of the way it cut the hair. We shant say more on that subject.

With that being said. I feel like this razor could be improved on, but it is decent enough for me to continue using and potentially buy new head replacements for. (if they aren't ungodly expensive. I've not looked as of yet.. prices will be at le bottom) I bloomin' hate giving such a meh review about things, which is probably why this has taken me a long time to type, since I never wrote it beforehand. I have used this razor a couple of times (3 times) and the moisture strips at the top and bottom are almost gone. I'm not sure how long they are supposed to last, but they were about half gone after the first use. If that is any type of help regarding the moisturizing aspect. I do want to thank BzzAgent and Schick for giving me the opportunity to try this product!

This retails for between $6-$10 depending on if you buy the one that comes with the shower hanger and extra blade or the one that comes with 1 blade and the handle. The cartridge refiles are around $15. Meh honestly, that's why I don't buy razors that require refills. The prices are extremely too high in my opinion.

Anyways, have you tried this razor before? I'd love to know what your opinions are of this.
