Hello Hello!
I purchased these with my OWN money
Tweets Cosmetics is a new nail polish brand that has recently come out and at the present moment is exclusive to Walmart. My Walmart didn't have their display set up, it seriously just had the trays of nail polishes sitting on a shelf, I really wouldn't have noticed them if I weren't in the isle getting nail polish remover. That's how out of the way my Walmart has them. (shame on you Walmart. Shame)
The names of these nail polishes are all basically tweet & text shorthand. Not gonna lie, I only knew what a few of them meant. I had to go online and find their website to find out the names of the polishes! I think it might be a little helpful if what they mean was under the names. For two of them in particular. They look like they would be gorgeous jelly polishes, but that's not the case. I'll get to that in a minute though!
Tweets polishes are Water based, so they are non toxic, which is always a plus! They also claim that these polishes are better for you and your nails. They are made in the USA and are Cruelty Free. These also do NOT have a scent to them, which is amazing right now because my allergies are so bad I can barely paint my nails or the smell of the polishes kill me. Thankfully that was not the case with these. They also contain NO parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, toluene, DBP and even NO Gluten. I don't think there are many gluten free polishes out there, but at the same time I've not really looked. Each polish is also enriched with Vitamins A, B, C, & D.
The company claims that these are the first water based, TWO coat, full coverage polishes. That definitely intrigued me as well.
This is one of the polishes that looks like with would be a lovely baby pink jelly polish. HOWEVER B4C stands for Before Coat. I never would have known that if I didn't go on their website. While this is a light baby pink, this does dry relatively clear. It does give your nails a little hint of pink but not much. This also goes on VERY thing and it's rather shiny when it goes on.
This is the other jelly looking polish. The name of this threw me for a bloody loop. No lie. I couldn't figure out what FUMTC stood for! Finish Your Milk Top Coat is what that stands for. I NEVER would have guessed that in my lifetime. As you can tell, this isn't clear and it has a slight blue undertone to it. When it goes on the top of the nail polish, it changes the color of the polish slightly. It also gives it a little bit of a blue-ish look to it depending on how you hold it in the light. This does apply pretty shiny though, I will give it that.
This is the polish that I chose out of their 30 nail colors. I'm not sure why I chose pink since it's not my kind of color (personal preference) but I did. I'm pretty happy with the color and if you notice it also has a silver shimmer to it!
RMLB stands for Read my Lips Baby. Once again never would have guessed that one!
Tweets calls with a Coral with Shimmer. The bottle shot on the website, looks different then the actual bottle. I would call this a neon-ish pink. Chris calls it "dark rose" I say when it's on the fingers and you apply the top coat it kinds of neon. that is in my opinion. It doesn't really transfer well in pictures though and it definitely doesn't look neon in bottle.
I mean, this is definitely a bright pink.
I also want to mention that I am using the imPRESS Medium Length Nails that I reviewed the other day. The color of the nails did NOT affect the color of the polish. I've worn this polish 3 times and regardless of what's under it, it looked the same.
You can kind of see the silver shimmer in this polish. It's not that noticeable. Another thing that I noticed with this polish all 3 times that I used it, is that it is NOT self-leveling. No matter how many times you try to smooth this polish out, it just doesn't smooth out. The top coat helps a little bit, but not very much. In some pictures you can still see where it didn't apply very evenly. I also found that this polish is VERY VERY thick, it is almost a little hard to work with. I don't have any nail polish thinner to use with it, plus I would be too afraid to thin this out since I've never used this brand before last week.
The first time I wore this, I had to use 3 coats because it just was not working with me at all. Every other time I've used this, I used 2 coats, as well as 2 coats in the pictures above.
As for wear time, I've said in previous nail posts, that I normally don't comment on wear time, because my nails are so meh that a nail polish doesn't last more than a few hours on me. However, I feel that I can comment on wear time with this because it lasted more than an hour or two. This polish on me lasted two days using their base coat and top coat. I had 2 showers, and a butt load a yard work and this lasted through it all. Which is pretty damn impressive. This did chip on my after the 3rd shower though. The second time I wore this, I used my SH Continuous Growth Treatment under one coat of their base coat, the nail polish and the top coat and this chipped instantly. So I don't recommend using anything under their base coat if you do happen to purchase it. Another thing i want to mention is that this is show every dip, curve and unevenness of your nails, if they are not smooth. That is what I found out after the first time I used this.
I'm not sure if all of their polishes are as thick as this one is. I'm definitely interested in trying a few more of their polishes though. Also worth mentioning is that their website is a tumblr page, so if you have a tumblr, you can follow it easily. It is definitely worth it to seek this brand out and to try their polishes.

Thank you, Autumn, for the thorough review! Have you been able to get an ingredient list for this new nail polish? Thanks! Cathy
ReplyDeleteHello Cathy!
DeleteThank you so much for reading!
I've not been able to find the lists online, but I found a flap on the nail polish that lists it, but I've not gotten the chance to update this because the writing is so small, I have to realllly look or get a magnifying glass.
