Hey everyone!
This product was sent to me for review by iFabbo for Beautisol. All opinions are 100% my own and are completely honest.
Beautisol TeaTan is an instant bronzer that WASHES off. It has natural tea extracts in it, hence the name. It also has DHA in it that helps it wash off in the shower. This product is a mousse and comes with a mitt so you can apply the product evenly. This works on ALL skin tones.
When you first pump the mousse out of the container it's scary looking. It's sooo dark, but once you apply it, it's not so bad. Now my legs are pretty pale because I LIVE in pants most of the year. I only own 1 pair of shorts anymore. Now that I've actually got the confidence I want more shorts! :P I was VERY apprehensive about using this because it's my first faux tanner. I figured that this would be a good first time self tanner because if I screw it up, I can just wash it off.
When I first tried this out, I applied it to my arms. While it looked okay, there was not much of a difference in color. Not only that, but the smell from this is very strong. It kind of reminds me of a laundry matt. It's not that bad of a smell, but it can be overpowering. I left it on for as long as I could, but the scent was messing with my allergies something fierce. I wound up having to take it off. Then I realized as I was washing it off, I was having a reaction to it! My arm was so red that it's not even funny. So I put off using it for about another two weeks. Today I decided to use it on my legs because it's the farthest from my nose. (LOL). I can happily say that the smell isn't bothering me. I really LOVE the fact that you can wash this off with soap and water. However when you wash it off the smell doesn't go away with it, that's okay though because it isn't as strong when you start washing it off.
For myself I do feel a tingly reaction from this. There is something in it that I am allergic too, I'm not sure what it is, but it's also not a bad reaction. Unfortunately it messes with my allergies too much that I can't use it. Not only that but when I applied this onto my left leg, you could tell that it was agitating my skin. I think with the mixture of the reaction and the color of my skin, this came out looking weird. At first it looked red, which was very weird for me. So I added a second coat, it still had a reddish-orange tinge to me. Another issue I had with this is the mitt. I found that it's actually a bit small for my hand honestly. If this came in different sizes that would be fantastic.
For myself at least, I looked too fake on my skin. I used to be tan back when I was in high school and this for myself looked too fake. I've seen other ladies use it and it looked AH-MAZING on them, but for me this just fell flat. While I do think that it is an amazing product and wish that I could use it, but unfortunately for me, my allergies win this battle. I'll just have to slather on sun screen and do it the old fashioned way.

Really not worth the effort if it irritates you AND you get a poor colour. Great review, very informative :-)
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree! I think it may just be my skin though. I've seen some people who have used the same product and it looks absolutely fantastic on them! I'm so bummed it didn't work out. Thank you! xx
