Korres Lip Butter Review

Oh my gosh!

To be 100% honest, there really are no cons to this product except for the price. It retails for $12 PER pot. Each pot 0.21 oz (6g). So in essence you are getting a lot of product for the price, but I still don't like the price :P.  The only reason I bought these in the first place, is because it was a trio that was on sale for $19. I could not let that deal pass me by at all! However, the trio was a LE holiday thing so they aren't selling it anymore. :(

Anyhoodles, I am going to review two out of the 3 pots that I have. Because I've not used the third one yet.

Jasmine is a sheer neutral pink.
As you can tell, I was a bad blogger and used it before I took a picture of it. *slaps self on hand* You can't really tell that this is on my lips because it is sheer. In reality it's pretty close to the same color as my lips, which I don't mind. This was the first one I decided to dive into and you can tell that it has been WELL loved..
It's actually almost empty, which is sad. However I do have 2 more pots and a lip glaze to work on! (more on the lip glaze in another post)

Pomegranate is described as a sheer coral. However when I use it, it looks more of a light red then a coral. I do see the coral aspects of it, but on my lips it leans more red.

You can tell that I've not used this one as much, but there is still a pretty decent sized dent in it!

These lip butters come in pots (obviously) I know some people don't like that aspect, I myself do not mind it. Well, I don't to a point, but I carry hand sanitizer around with my so I make sure to sanitize my hands or wash them before I stick my find in the pot.

These are EXTREMELY moisturizing and at least for me, they last quite a long time on the lips as long as I am not eating, but that is typical for any lip balm/butter. I've found that these bad boys (or girls) are the ONLY thing that I reach for anymore when it comes to my lips. I just don't feel like I need anything else. These do have a VERY mild scent, in fact you can't even tell that it is there unless you stick your nose practically into the product, but I am just a freak like that. I like covering all bases. I'm not sure if these are supposed to smell like what they are called, because I can't really distinguish a scent at all.

They are not sticky at all, which hello I love about that! Not only that, but you would wear these as a wash of color on your lips and call it a day. They do have a shine to them, which I really like, its not an overpowering shine either like a lipgloss can tend to create. I also find that these are extremely hydrating, like no otha motha. The pigmentation is fantastic and they are super creamy, so a little goes a long way.

These will last you quite a long while. Unless you are me and you are constantly applying your lip balm like a crazy person. ( I blame working at Busch Gardens. That place made my lips like a desert. NEVER again) They really are everything and anything that I could ever want in a lip butter/balm. They are fantastic and at one point in my life I want to eventually own all of the colors, or multiples of them ( I told you I was crazy)

Oh! Currently on Sephora's webste, they have the Lip Blockbuster Volume II for sale. It's $39.00USD but you get 3 lip butters and 3 of the lip butter glazes. That's probably going to be the next thing I invest in. Oh! The lip butter glazes, are basically the potted lip butters in a tube so you don't have to stick your finger in it. That is at least what I have found. Same product and everything. Just tube form. :P

You can find these at Sephora and Sephora.com . I'm not sure if Ulta has them though. I didn't see them online and I don't remember seeing them in the store.

I think I've got everything covered! If I missed something PLEASE let me know! xx

PS I'm kinda jealous that you can purchase these in the UK for £7

First Ever Cult Nails Haul!

Hello Loves! (Just as a warning this is going to be picture heavy!)

Today I am going to show you what I purchased from Cult Nails!

As most of you know, or at least anyone who is in the Nail Polish world knows that it is Cult Nails Second Anniversary. A 2nd Anniversary trio was put out for sale so I decided what the heck I'm going to purchase it! Before I get into the haul though, let me just give you some background info..

Cult Nails is a 4-free as well as Cruelty Free nail polish brand. Maria (owner/founder) is located in Florida. I LOVE supporting Florida brands.. since I live in Flo-rida as well. Funny enough where the brand is located is DIRECTLY on the other side of the state, you could draw a straight line and connect the two. (the little things in life) Enough about that.

I purchased a total of 5 polishes and Nail are Rhinestones.

I went back and forth for probably 4 hours before I finally settled on purchasing anything. What the hell right? Mine as well, I just dwindled my nail polishes to less than half of what they used to be and I've wanted to try a couple of her polishes anyways.

I decided to go ahead and purchase the 2nd Anniversary Trio which retails for $36 but it currently on sale for $30. I'm not sure when the price goes up to $36, but I think it is within the next few days.
There is a little treat that comes with purchasing the trio though. From the website itself ;;
*Free gift will be either a pair of cubic zirconia earrings, a pair of 1/2 carat genuine diamond earrings (2 pairs will be given away), OR 1 pair of 1 carat genuine diamond earrings (1 pair will be given away).  FREE GIFT ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!  Earrings will not be replaced if imperfect, damaged, lost, stolen, or missing.
So 3 lucky ladies are going to be getting REAL diamond earrings! Holy crap, that is 1. absolutely generous of her to do! and 2. pretty freaking amazing and it makes opening the box from her even more exciting. Even for those who don't get the real ones, there is still going to be a pair of CZ earrings. In my opinion, it's still a win win.

When I received the box and opened it, you can tell that they definitely take care of their polishes when shipping. Each one was individually wrapped in paper and it had a sticker on it with the Cult Nails logo and the name of the polish. You can definitely tell that she takes pride in not only creating her polishes but as well as the packing and shipping aspect of it all. Along with each individually wrapped polish there were cotton balls to help cushion as well. This was probably one of the best packaged things I have ever seen.
Swatches are under the bottle shots / descriptions

The polishes in the trio are
Tempest - High gloss white nail polish -2 Coats

Blaze - Gold and Copper glitter (Does this remind anyone else of Gryiffindor from Harry Potter?!) 3 Coats (the only reason I used 3 coats is because I smudged it and did 3 to even it out. You can get away with 2 coats though)

Fetish - Black with a wax looking finish to it. -2 Coats

All 3 of these are absolutely GORGEOUS. I've been wanting a white polish for a while so I am pretty excited for it! As for the other two, I am equally stoked for them!

I also purchased;;
Alter Ego - sheer top coat that casts a green and gold tinge over any polish you put it over. This is also limited edition ($12) I LOVE top coats like this, so I am excited to try it out over different polishes.
1 coat over ORLY Liquid Vinyl

Mazo - Sheer Nude with gold shimmer. (This is on last chance for  $7) I've been drawn to nude polishes lately and I decided on this one and am pretty excited about it! 3 Coats

Swatches:
Sunlight

Shade

The last thing I added to my order, just because were the Multi-Colored Nail Rhinestones. I thought they would be cute to jazz up a manicure!

So, what do you think?! I personally think I fared pretty well considering CN is a Independent brand. In total with tax included I spent $55.12.  I wanted to get Nevermore, BUT I figured since there was already a black polish in the set, I didn't need another one.. even though I still want it like a crazy person.

These polishes definitely exceeded my expectations! I am so pleased that I decided to go ahead and purchase these!

You can purchase from Cult Nails HERE
Follow them on Twitter
Like their Facebook
Upon reading the CN twitter, the Anniversary polishes will be sold individually starting on MONDAY 28/01/13!
They also so ship internationally, so for you beauties who want to try them out you can! xx

Disclaimer: I purchased the above mentioned products with my own money. I am in no way affiliated with Cult Nails nor am I being sponsored or paid to talk about the above mentioned products. All opinions are 150% my own.

Palmolive Dishsoap

Hello Loves!

My first impression of this dish soap when I opened the box that it came in was that I LOVED each of the scents. Even though I loved the scents, I was still unsure of how I was going to like the product itself. I wasn't sure if it was going to be able to hold up to my favorite dish soap.

The scent I picked out to try first was the Lime Basil. You can really smell the lime in this but not so much the basil, but that is okay with me. I found that this cleaned my dishes really well, better than I expected honestly. The only problem I found with this was the spout at the top. If you are not careful when you go to use it, you get WAY too much soap. It happened to me a couple of times, so I feel that if the hole in the top was a bit smaller, then it would be okay. Other than that I REALLY love these. I also love the bottle design, it is small enough to where it will not take up a lot of space, but it holds a lot of products. 16 FL OZ of products at that!

I gave the Lemon Thyme to my Mum and she said she really likes it. She was going to test it out in so many different ways to the point that all I could do was laugh. She was going to use it on the laundry, the dogs, was the car, etc... It was kind of comical. She didn't do it though, I talked her out of it. If my Mum likes this then you know it is a good product because my Mom likes to stick with what she knows. That is a woman who is faithful to her Dawn dish soap!

I sent the other bottle to a friend in Tennessee, we're just waiting for her to get it.

Overall, I think that this is a very successful product in the Wiemerslage household! I can foresee myself scooping up a few more bottles of this!

Have you tried these? Which was your favorite scent?

Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Influenster and Palmolive for my unbiased opinion and review.

January 2013 Ipsy Bag

Hello Lovelies!

I'm trying to get back into the groove of things and am planning on taking a couple of more days and writing out some posts. I feel like I have been neglecting you all and I hate it. :(

Onto what came in my Ipsy bag this month.

So this month's bag is centered around being a Super Star.  I personally don't quite get the "themes" sometimes, but hey, if it floats their boats. Right?

There was no makeup in this bag, and I am okay with that. I loved everything that came in this months bag as well. The only time I dislike bags is when I get a bag full of things I WONT use.. It has happened..

The first product is another nail polish from Nailtini.

The color I got was Frappe. This is kind of dangerous because I've loved the past two Nailtini polishes that I've gotten. Frappe is a VERY sheer pale pink. When I say sheer I mean it. 1 coat just evens out the colors on your nails, after 4 coats it is still NOT opaque. You can still see the tips of your nails, however I am very okay with that. For some reason I am very drawn to this nail polish. I am so glad I got this over the red one. I also want to note in the picture below, there is NO top coat on my nails. This polish is extremely shiny on its own.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

I've been wanting to try this for quite some time, but I found that this is quite expensive. No surprise though.  I've used this once so I can't really give an opinion on it. It does have no scent though, at least to me.

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Mini Body Butter

Ever since Davia talked about this months and months ago, I have been wanting it. I LOVE anything blood orange. It's a sweet scent, but there is more too it. I really love this scent! Bah. The "mini" of this is basically like a travel sized. Perfect to throw in your purse and call it a day.

Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volume Spray

Now, I've got flat hair and am always in need of volume. I don't use hair spray often, but I am going to give this a shot.

The last product is from SOHO London. This was a you get one 1 out of 3 brushes. I happened to get the crease brush.

I don't typically use crease brushes, but I guess I should start huh? :P I've got a few and haven't really found one that I liked so we will see how this goes. I do have to say that the bristles are quite soft and don't feel scratchy so this could work out really well.

The bag this month is pretty big! To me this is a proper makeup bag. It's big enough to hold quite a lot of products and would be absolutely perfect for travelling. The bag itself is a dark navy blue with a lighter navy blue lined inside. There are also white stars on the inside, which I quite like. I think if the stars were also on the outside the bag would be cute as well, BUT I am quite happy with them just being on the inside as well! :P

No complaints from me about this bag. I really love everything I got and am excited to try out the things that I did not try.

Do you like that you got in your Ipsy bag?
Do you want to see an individual review of something? Let me know!

1 Year of Blogging!

Heyo everyone!

Today is my 1 year blogging anniversary! I'm so happy about that! I do plan on doing a giveaway for it, but for myself personally right now is not the time. I will get into that later though.

It really feels like I have been blogging for more than a year though! Maybe because I had my YouTube channel first, before I got into blogging, but the year went by so fast! With the first year behind me, I am so excited for many years to come!
I know for myself as a blogger and as a woman I have changed quite a bit over the past year. I don't have hundreds of followers or anything, but that is okay with me. I don't blog for followers, I blog because I love it! I honestly really do love blogging and I love doing it for all of you.
I do know that I am going to start blogging more, the past few months have been a bit hard on me, which is why I've not been consistent with my blogs like I was. I'm going to start back doing the Blogger Spotlights and a few other things and am going to crank out some blog posts to schedule. :) I've got a few planned :)
Thank you all so much for supporting me through this first year! I can't wait to see what this year and the years to come bring!

Now, unfortunately to the reason why I wasn't going to blog today. On Monday I lost one of my best friends. The worst part is, I had talked to him just 30-40 minutes prior to him hanging himself, which makes it a bit hard.. I didn't even know anything was wrong, he seemed so happy. I loved the guy with all of my heart and it hurts to know that he is gone and I wont get to talk to him every day. I know others who have dealt with the same thing, but it just hurts because I've never lost someone who was close to me. I cried all day and was an absolute wreck.. .. I can't even really say anymore because it hurts talking about it still
I really just want to say that if you are EVER considering suicide, please re-think it. I know its a hard thing and even touchy subject to discuss. Way back in the day, I considered it, but knew I couldn't go through with it because it would be worse on my family and friends then it was ever for me and I was going through a lot at the time. I knew that people loved me and I didn't want to cause the people I loved any pain. I know people say suicide is a selfish thing and to a point it is...They are relieved of their pain and suffering but the ones around them suffer greater then they would ever think. From the person who I was back in high school to the person I am now, I am SO glad that I decided against it. ... this isn't about me though.
Please if you are ever considering suicide, please talk to someone.. I know it's hard to talk about things like that, trust me I was in your shoes once.. but it WILL help.. I promise it will help. If all else fails you can talk to me. I am always here if anyone wants to talk.
As per Ryan, I am not angry at you for doing it. I know what you were going through and I know for a fact that you were not yourself when you did it. For the fact that you were wanting to fight your alcoholism without the help of Rehab or anything else, makes me commend you.. Most people wouldn't do that. I think it was the withdraw from the alcohol that made you snap and decide to take your own life. I know that because you promised me that you would never consider it again.  You knew you were better than it, but the demons got to you first! I love you Ryan! xx <3

I do want to state per the button in the right sidebar. I put the donation link that I set up there, just for a because sake.. really because I could. I'm not going to ask anyone to donate. Myself, Chris and a few other friends set it up for Ryan's family. We plan on sending the money to help them out. We feel that since all of us are scattered around the world it's the best that we could do. All of the money that gets donated is going straight to his family.

Thank you to those who congratulated me on twitter about my 1 year. :)

-Autumn xx

Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation

Hello Loves!

Today I have a review for you on the Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid foundation. This foundation came out I believe a month ago, it's still a extremely new product anyways.
When I was in Walgreens, I knew I needed a new foundation and I figured that I would try this out. I mean why not?! It's new and I can do a review on it. Not only that, but I was EXTREMELY  surprised at the price it was only $9.99! The last foundation Revlon came out with was around the $15 mark, depending on where you went. That was at least how it was for me.

This is what Revlon claims about this foundation::
"Makeup so refreshingly light, it melts right in, creating a fresh even look. So the only one that knows you are wearing makeup is you. Blends seamlessly, buildable coverage."

I do have to agree with Revlon on their claims. This foundation is extremely light in consistency. It's almost watery compared to other foundations. It does even out your skin tone (to a point more later) with one layer. I didn't have a problem blending this out and it built up nicely. I don't notice any type of scent associated with this either, which is extremely nice. Overly scented things make my allergies go CRAZY.

I did not have a problem picking out a shade for this which was nice. It's hard to find a good foundation match at the drugstore. Revlon also has a interactive guide to help you choose a correct foundation for you. Did I use it? Of course not, I didn't know there was one until I read Nouveau Cheap's blog post about it. Figures right? The foundation I picked out though was a nice match to my skin.

There are sixteen shades of this foundation. Unfortunately from what I saw, it doesn't go dark enough for you dark chocolate ladies, which in my opinion stinks. I love when companies have a shade range to fit EVERYONE.

I applied this foundation around 7pm and as I typed this review it is around 10:20pm and I unfortunately have to report that this foundation might have to go back to the store. This foundation did oxidize a bit from when I put it on originally. Unfortunately as well, I have a very oily nose and the foundation has already broke and the oil has shown through there. Which stinks. :( It's also POOLED in my pores, making them practically punch you in the face. I did use a primer with this and even set it with a powder and on my it only lasted a few hours. It's honestly really disappointing in my opinion. In some of the pictures you can even see where on some of my dry spots (yes I have them :( ) the foundation even STUCK and didn't blend at all. Shame shame.

I can't complain too much since I got this on buy 1 get 1 half off, so I paid less than $4 for this, but it's such a bummer because I was really hoping that this foundation would work well for me. Oh I think I forgot to mention I got shade 150 Nude

This foundation also has broad spectrum SPF 20 in it. I didn't find that there was a white cast with this. (yes I took pictures with flash) It's just such a shame that this did not work out for me. :( Back to Walgreens it goes.. You can purchase this anywhere that you can buy Revlon products. The price could also vary according to your region as well. :)

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think of it?!

Top Coat Throwdown

Heya loves!

Before I get into the purpose of this blog post, I just want to restate a few things from my earlier post. I did switch blogging platforms because it was becoming an issue with people only being able to subscribe VIA email. So I eliminated that (kind) and switched to Blogger from Wordpress. So unfortunately yes, you will have to re-subscribe (if you were previously) but you can do so through GFC (Google Friend Connect) or once again VIA email. I do want to point out, that for an upcoming giveaway or two, GFC will be part of it and what not :)

ANYWAYS, so what we are here about today!

I was just going to have this be a NOTD (Nail of the Day) post then I remembered I told a few people I was going to do a comparing blog post of these two top coats... or at least a review of one of them. I figured I would compare them, since they are the two that I currently am switching between. Maybe down the road a little bit I will do comparisons of the 3 I have, heck maybe I will even have a few more baha. Anyhoobles.

The two polishes that I used were both from Essie. The lilac-grey color is Miss Fancy Pants and the glittery parts is Stroke of Brilliance from their Luxeffects line.
My basecoat is the Sally Hansen Continuous Growth Treatment (being discontinued scoops this bad boy up ASAP it's amazing..also.. it's not pictured below)

For my Top coats I used Out The Door and ORLY HI Shine.
Out The Door can be purchased at CVS and Sally Beauty Supply, I'm not sure where else. CVS is where I found mine.
HI Shine .. well that is a different story, I found mine at TJ Maxx, but I've never seen it before and apparently neither have a few nail bloggers I talk too.. I got this for $4.99 at TJ Maxx.

Out The Door claims to be Americas #1 Super Fast Drying top coat. I do agree with that, it does dry extremely quickly. However, don't expect to be able to walk out the door, especially if you didn't wait for your nail polish to fully dry (without realizing it..this happened to me)
You get a pretty nice amount of shine out of this top coat. On my pink and ring finger I used two coats and on my middle and index fingers I used 1 coat.. Just to show. You do get more shine if you use two coats of it. However, two coats is not necessary, especially if you are not using a top coat eater (like glitter) this glitter topcoat I used isn't a TCE (top coat eater) thankfully, but I still did 1 and two coats just to show. This is an absolutely lovely top coat. This also claims to be "long-wearing" and will not yellow... I've never had a top coat "yellow" on me, I didn't even know it could happen... As for long wearing, for me, it is long wearing. I can't say days and days because I have shoddy nails and nothing lasts days and days on me. No matter how much prepping or anything. It is just the nature of my nails I guess. HOWEVER this one does last longer than other ones I have tried so yay on that!

ORLY's HI-Shine is new to me..well kind of, I've had it for a few weeks, but new to me as in I've never seen it before. In the bottle this has a blue tinge to it, but comes out clear when used. The brush for this, in my opinion leaves something to be desired. Don't get me wrong, I like the brush itself, but not the way it is cut. It is cut in a really wonky manor that if you don't check to see if your nail polish if fully dry, it can tug and pull it.. it happened to me on this manicure actually...on my pinkie to be exact. I really do like the bottle of this, I'm not sure what it is, but it just reminds me of being slightly vintage-y.. it's a me thing okay? This handle of this, has the typical rubbery ORLY handle, which I actually quite like. I do find that between the two of these, Hi-Shine is more "shiny" or glossy if that is what you prefer. Particularly, it does make the nails looks sleep and finished, even when they are painted a little shoddy.. ( I did my nails in half darkness..no shame) It also makes them look even.. thankfully. On my left hand, I'm not sure you can see it in thee pictures, you can tell the polish was uneven.. where as on my right hand (this top coat) it looks even and just.. dare I say perfect? .. Well not really perfect, but you get my point? As for HI-Shine, I think that there are top coats out there that can give you a more shiny effect, however this one is pretty shiny.

Between the two top coats, it is hard to say which one I like better. I actually quite like both of them honestly. It really boils down to what nail polish I use on my nails per which one comes out looking better. Does that make any kind of sense? I've had times where the Hi-Shine was out shined by the Out The Door and vice versa.

Here is an example of what I mean by one out shining the other. On the left (pinkie/ring) is Out The Door on the right is HI-Shine. (middle/index)

Oh! All pictures were taking as the sun was halfway up in the sky.. aka morning light :)

Have you tried either of these top coats? Which is YOUR favorite Topcoat? I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a new one! xx
