Favorites Friday

I know, it has been ages since I have done a Favorites Friday. Please don't kill me!

The first thing that I have been loving is a website called Crackle. I just recently found out about it. (Apparently I am behind on the times!) They have movies and TV shows that you can watch for free! How cool is that. LOL. A lot of the TV shows are Anime shows though, so just keep that in mind haha. I do love quite a few of the movies that they have! A few of them brought back fond memories as well! :P go check out their site and let me know what you think! <3

The next thing I have been loving is my Blistex Herbal Answer SPF15 lip balm. I got it on clearance from CVS, so I am not sure if you can find it anymore. I actually lost it in the car, for a few days, but finally found it next to the seat! haha I am so thankful I found it, I was going crazy. I carry this around with me EVERYWHERE! I even kept it in my pocket when we were at Adventure Island.

Cry Baby. Enough said about that. :P I absolutely love this movie though, not just because it has Johnny Depp in it. I used to have it on my old computer, but since that took a crap, I lost it! :( Such a bummer, but I FINALLY found it at Movie Stop and you know I had to pick it up! Seriously though its an amazing movie.

My newest purchase was the Sugarpill pigment in Birthday Girl and it quickly became the eye shadow that I wore the most this week. I paired it with a black or a chocolate brown crease. Heck I even wore it alone! This is seriously such a gorgeous color and I am so glad that I picked it up when I had the chance! I see a Sugarpill addiction starting!

My last favorite is something that I never thought I would like to be honest. Instagram. I love Razzi more, but that is only available on Apple and its a pain to carry my iPad around everywhere I go, so since Instagram is available on Android now, it is what I see myself using the most! Granted I don't use the filters or borders because I think its stupid, but hey to each their own. :)

What are your favorites for this week!?

I would love to know!

DIY Sunburn Healing

You spent all day in the sun, but even though you applied sunscreen multiple times, you STILL got bloody sunburned! I hate when that happens! It happens to me a lot. Haha.

I am going to tell you about 2 Sunburn healing tips, that should help remedy your sunburn, or at least help it to not hurt as much!

The first one is making Aloe Vera Ice Cubes

Take 100% aloe vera gel and an ice cube tray and freeze. Aloe vera gel feels amazing on your skin when you have a sunburn anyways, but by freezing it, you get that extra cooling, which is AMAZING since its been so bloody hot!

The second is Black Tea.

  1. 2 to 4 black tea bags

  2. 3 or 4 cups boiling water

  3. 1 glass jar or bowl

4. Washcloth

The tannic acid found in black tea actually draws heat away from the skin and cools it off. Boil a big pot of water and steep the black tea for 10 minutes. Transfer your tea to a glass jar and let it cool down naturally or with ice cubes. When it's completely cool, apply it on burned skin with a small wash cloth on a regular basis.

I hope these two remedies help you out the next time you get a sunburn!

Tropical Storm Isaac Update

So, all in all if you have been watching the news, not a damn thing happened. Isaac ended up turning WAY west and missed us completely. We got rain and wind. Thats about bloody it. I did get some pictures though!

I mean I am glad that it wasnt bad, I just kind of wish that there was more of it. Ya know? I know shame on me. I do however feel for the people in Louisiana, its a shame that they are going to get battered again. Especially after Katrina, granted its been a few years, but still.

I do hope and pray that if you are in Louisiana and are bracing to get hit that you stay safe! Just stay safe and don't go outside in the middle of the hurricane, that is all I ask. :)

Maybe I should have had my Dad wash and wax the car. LOL.. Its a family joke and kind of a long story.

I did get some pictures, not many because not a bloody lot happened. I took them on my phone because I haven't been bringing my camera, or a purse for that matter with me lately, which is just really bloody weird. I really only got a few .

We did have to drive to Tampa to go rescue my Dad from work, that was about the highlight of my Sunday afternoon. We ended up getting rained on like crazy. I looked like a drowned rat. LOL

[slideshow]

I'm not sure WHY the pictures are sideways. When I open them in the editing program I use they are the correct way but aren't on here. Its weird.

I know those aren't fantastic pictures, but honestly, like I said before not much happened and there was not a dang thing exciting to take pictures of.

All in all it was pretty uneventful!

I hope everyone stays safe and happy!

Tropical Storm Isaac

Hello loves!

As a lot of you may or may not know, I like on the west coast of Florida. We are bracing to be hit my Tropical Storm Isaac, or by the time he gets near us he will be Hurrican Isaac. Granted he moved more towards the west, so we wont be getting as bad of a hit. But if the wind and rain is anything like Tropical Storm Debby, we are prepared for some serious wind and serious flooding.

If you following me on twitter, you possibly saw the pictures I posted during it. I had also done a vlog which I put on my YouTube channel. I am planning on doing a Isaac blog and possibly a vlog, not sure about the vlog, but I can guarantee a blog with as many pictures I can get without ruining my camera. :)

As of 1:21pm August 26, 2012 , there is rain heading our way, which is the first of many rain bands. Pasco County (where I live) is in a State of Emergency and there is even voluntary evacuation. Meaning if you are in a low lying home or a trailer you can evacuate to a safer place if you wish. Heck, when I was younger we NEVER evacuated lol.  Even with Chris and I living on the 4th floor of an apartment building, we STILL have to worry about flooding because our parking lot floods as well as the roads around us. So if there is a constant rain, guess who ISNT leaving. lol. Which isnt a big deal. If we need something we can ALWAYS walk to the gas station or even to Walmart since its close to us. I doubt we will need anything but you can never tell with Chris and I.

I am secretly hoping that Isaac turns back towards the east, but I am not getting my hopes up. I absolutely love Tropical Storms and Hurricanes, as much of a pain in the butt they are! I really just wanted to write this post up letting you all that I plan on typing up a blog complete with pictures when its over!

If you would like you can follow me on Twitter https://twitter.com/AuttyW because I will be tweeting updates and pictures from my phone and possibly iPad. Which means if I do them from both my phone and iPad there are going to be pictures on Instagram and Razzi. Since Razzi is only supported on Apple products (freaking lame) and Instagram is supposed on both Apple and Android.

Beautylish Boutique "Haul"

Hello Lovelies!

Remember the post I made a few posts back about ordering from the Beautylish boutique? Well, my order came yesterday! The reason I didn't put the post up then was because I had just made my BeautyArmy post.

Anyways. I seriously was so excited! For 1 the UPS man scared the crap out of me when he knocked on the door.  2. I was so stinking excited to get my Beautylish package! I had NEVER used anything Sugarpill before. I've wanted too, but never had the chance to do it. Welp! Thanks to Beautylish I got my chance! Now I only ordered 3 things. I decided to keep it to a minimum because I wanted to save some money for the other boutiques that opened.

I ended up ordering a few things for Stephanie (CookieFarrer) after I asked her if there was any Sugarpill stuff she was lusting after. I'll let her tweet or post when she gets it :) It should be here today (8.24.12) at some point, then I've gotta add some stuff and send it her way.

That was a bit off topic. I had earned $160 in credit from beautylish by having people sign up via a link to get on the wait list for their store to open. I had 51 people sign up! Thank you so much to everyone!  My first order was $36 which left me $128. Then I made Stephanie's order and hers came out too $46 which left me with around $76 for the rest of the boutiques. I regret nothing!

Onto what I ordered.

The first thing I went for were the pressed pigments. I had been wanting Love+ for AGES. I've always wanted a red eye shadow. (My mom told me none existed when I first started getting into makeup. She lied. Lol. I've seen reds before, but they stank pigmentation wise. Plus they are really hard to find period.) Another good thing about Love+ is that it is MATTE! That is even harder to find! It killed me a little when I swatched it. (too pretty to disturbed. Im weird like that) The pigmentation is beautiful and I love the color!  I didn't take any pictures of the swatches themselves, I was going to do that when I do the individual reviews.

The next thing I went for were the pigments. I got two of them. Asylum and Birthday Girl. Asylum is a shimmery red with an orange undertone. Or as its described my Sugarpill a shimmery sex pot red. (that made me giggle) Birthday Girl is a princess pink color with iridescent fuchsia sparkles. This one is gorgeous! I first got it because I was thinking of doing a light light pink eye maybe for the wedding, but not with this one! Holy crap its so gorgeous and in your face! I will still use it though!

I also want to say, Holy freaking crap! I didn't realize their pigments were so BIG. I knew their pressed eye shadows were a pretty big size (4 grams as well), but I never realized how big the pigments are at 4 grams! I don't care who you are, that is a ton of pigment! I will treasure these for life. :P   I almost bought the Heart Breaker palette for the limited edition shadow that comes with it, but in reality I probably wouldn't use it much nor the limited edition shadow. Thats why I didn't purchase it.

As for how everything came packaged, the shipping box is cute! It says OBSESSED on the top, other than that its plain white. Everything was wrapped in lime green tissue paper and the pigments came packaged in a brown tissue paper. (I need to find out what tissue paper that is. I actually really like it) Everything was packaged really securely, which I greatly appreciate.  It also came with a shiny card that said OBSESSED (pictured below) and on the pack it said www.beautylish.com . There was also another card which is also pictured below.

Also, I want to comment on Sugarpill's packaging. How freaking cute it is?!

Have you checked out Beautylish's shop yet?

Disclaimer: I am not being paid or sponsored by either brand or company to talk about their products. I received credit from Beautylish by people clicking a link and adding their name to the shops wait list for when it opened. All opinions and excitement are 100% my own.

Beauty Army August 2012!

Hellur Dahlin's!

I got my BeautyArmy kit today and could NOT wait to photograph it and show you all! I'm holding back on using a couple of products so I can get this blog post up haha!

This month without out a doubt was amazing! Just like last months. I didn't have to retake the little Beauty Quiz they give you, everything I picked was there when I logged in and I am excited about everything! For starters my box had to come in a different shipping box! One of the samples that I got is big enough to take up almost the entire box. Granted its mostly packaging, but we will get to that in a second!

Without further adieu !

My first sample is going to be the biggest one in the box, not weight wise but size wise.  Grand Central Beauty SMART Skin Perfecting Mask.  Active Powder for all skin types.  The powder container itself is 8g (.28 fl. oz) and then the bottle on the bottom is what you mix into the powder to make it into a mask.

The reason I say this is so big is because of the outer packaging. Inside the products themselves are a pretty decent size, but the overall packaging is huge. I feel that it is kind of unnecessary, but the outer package I guess is the mixing dish for this mask. I am excited to try it out though! Eek! It also comes with a "beauty book" basically telling you about the product and how to use it. I didn't photograph it because I didn't know it was there until I started typing this. Handy!

The next products are Vita-K professional Age Spots from Freeman. and the Twilight Woods Shea Enriched body wash from Bath and Body Works. The reason these two are photographed together is because they were in the outer box.

The Vita-K is FULL sized! Which is pretty exciting. Granted I don't have age spots but I think it will be really good to use!

Bath & Body Works has a new formula I guess from their old one so they are sampling this with BeautyArmy, now I LOVE the twilight woods scent. (Has nothing to do with twilight >_< Thankfully) and literally I LOVE this scent, I've had the previous shower gel, so I am excited to see how this  "new" formula works out!

The next product is the Atzen Protective day Cream

I got an Atzen product last month and unfortunately for me I had to CUT the application off just so I could get the product out of it, which resulted in it drying up rather quickly so I didn't get to enjoy it! :( I'm hoping this one is different and I wont have to cut the bottom off just to get product. Now this says you can use it as a primer as well and its for sensitive/allergic skin. I'm excited to try it! My skin has been funky lately so, here is too trying it!

The next product is ANOTHER Indie Lee product! Its her Coconut-Citrus body scrub!

I was so freaking excited when I saw this as a selection. I got an Indie Lee product last month which I absolutely LOVE and just did a review about actually. But this stuff I am so excited to try out like you have no idea! Just as a size note, it smells absolutely DIVINE! It kind of smells like those sour lemon heads, but with coconut thrown in there. Yummo!

My final product for this month is from Shea Terra Organics. I have been WAITING for one of their products to jump into my selection since I started hearing about them. I got the Premium Dark Chocolate Sugar-Stone Exfoliating Cream.

Let me tell you this stuff smells good enough to eat! They should put that warning label on it to NOT eat, its really tempting! I am so excited to try this out! Im probably going to use it after I post this. Shhh <_< >_>

Overall, I have been extremely pleased with Beauty Army the past couples of months! This month and last month were simply amazing! I can't wait to see what they have in store for next month!

What is BeautyArmy?

BeautyArmy is a beauty subscription service that costs $12 a month. But unlike the other beauty box subscriptions you get to PICK what products get sent to you each month. You get 9 selections and get to pick 6 of those 9. I think that this is one of the best subscription boxes out there. Check them out on their website and twitter

Want to join BeautyArmy? Click this referral link  <3

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with BeautyArmy nor any of the other companies. This box was not sent to me for free. I payed for it, just like I do every month. All opinions are my own.

Tavarua Skin Calming Argan Serum - Review

I am here with another Tavarua skin product review!

I've been testing this out for quite a while, a few months actually, I wanted to give you an accurate review.

The Calming Argan Serum retails for $18 and is a pretty big size! I'm not sure how much in ounces it is because it does not state it on the website or on the bottle itself.  This product is made in the USA, is 100% sustainable and cruelty free.

I love the simplicity of the glass container that it is in. It has just the right amount of information and the logo and name is just the right size. I love that there is also a space down the side where you can see how much you have left! That is always a plus in my book! I hate when you run out of product and you didn't even know you were low on it! Anyways, this application method is by roller ball. I really do like that, it gives a nice cooling effect when you apply it to the skin. You do however need to be careful to make sure that it stays standing up or it may potentially leak, I learned this from experience. Its not a problem though, barely any leaks out but it gets caught on the side of the roller ball, the cap goes on tightly enough that it doesn't get everywhere.

This does take a bit of time to sink into the skin, which is okay because I know that it is working. I mostly apply this to a scar that I have from when I was washing dishes and the glass broke. (long story, don't ask) I find that it is very nourishing to the scar, it doesn't feel as tight or dry when I use this, which I am really loving.  The one thing I am absolutely loving about this product is the fact that it FADED part of the scar! I was amazed when I noticed that a good portion of my scar was faded. A little of this goes a LOOOOONG way, no lie. I've applied this to my scar, cuticles, and my lips.

On the back of the label it says you can apply this around your eyes, lips, on your laugh lines, and wrinkles, extreme dry skin, scars or anywhere your skin needs that extra nourishment. Although it did feel a bit funky on my lips (its a me thing), I really felt that my lips got that extra nourishment they needed from being dry and neglected for a couple of days.  It says to keep in a cool and dark place for the best results. All  I have to say is oops. I've not kept it in the darkest of places. Its been out of sunlight but its not been in a dark place, as for a cool place. I live in Florida and its never really cool here, even in the Winter and we don't like to keep the air on because it shoots the electric bill up. I've not noticed and different results because of it, I think that it still works pretty amazingly.

This is what Tavarua's website says/describes this product as :
A delightful Argan Oil Serum with a hint of Japanese Yuzu Essential Oil. We use only Eco-Certified Organic Argan Oil, direct from a women's cooperative in Morocco.

This Argan Oil blend has Japanese Yuzu, which is known for its calming properties. Argan Oil on its own is extremely nourishing, with more Vitamin E than almost any other oil. Combined with the Yuzu it is an extremely calming and nourishing application for stressed, tired skin. Use to nourish the sensitive eye area, around lips, and after sun exposure. Apply to temples to enjoy the calming nature of the Japanese Yuzu. Roll over areas to be treated as many times a day as you like. Absorbs quickly with no greasy residue.

You can tell when my scar becomes stressed because it turns BRIGHT red, so I will apply some of this and it helps to calm it down to where it looks semi-normal.  I've not used this on my face, other then my lips because my skin is funky and would probably go crazy if I did happen to use it on my face. There is no greasy residue either, which I like. You can rub it gently into the skin or just let it slowly sink it, but if you choose that option just be careful. I've had it transfer onto the keyboard on my laptop and on my clothes. It doesn't stain or anything like that, its just more annoying then anything haha. Other than that, there is no other issues. I would suggest rubbing it in though. :) But that is just how I like to do you, you could be different. Everyone is! <3

On a side note, I do want to thank Stephanie, who is the owner of Tavarua for sending me these two products to try. They were absolutely amazing! I am forever grateful that you let me try your products out! <3

Indie Lee The Moisturizing Oil Lavender - Review

For the record I got this in my BeautyArmy box last month.

I was so excited when I got to pick my very first Indie Lee product! The first thing I want to talk about is the packaging!! It is seriously so cute! It comes in a glass vial with a little dropper so you can get the perfect amount of oil that you want. I am not sure how much product is in the sample container but it was full when I got it, but the full size has 4 oz and retails for $34. Which is quite a deal considering you don't need much at all. I've not even hit half of my small container and I have used this a bunch.

When you first use this, you do get hit with the scent of lavender, I don't mean hit as its overpowering. It is just the perfect amount of scent. It is also VERY calming, I love using this at night because it helps me relax before bed. I would recommend using the lavender scent before bed just for that reason. There are two other scents, vanilla citrus and original. I've not smelled either of those, but I bet they smell as amazing as this one!

Now you may be thinking that moisturizing your hands with an oil is a complete and total mess and that you can't do anything until it sinks into the skin. Well, I am here to tell you that you are wrong. Even though it is an oil it is not greasy at all. Heck, it doesn't even feel oily for being an oil! It is very very nice feeling on the skin and it sinks in relatively quick, which is something that I really love about this. I am one of those people who are always on the go or always using their hands for something, so I love when products sink in quickly. The scent also fades quickly which is also nice, because you don't have to worry about it lingering and messing with your perfume or whatever else you have going on.

The moisturizing oil really does what it is named to do, it moisturizes! I am not one for moisturizers, whether they be creams, gels or oils. After this sinks it, my skin feels amazing. Its hydrated and feels the way that it should. My hands get neglected too often, so its nice to treat them nightly to this oil.

This is something I can see me purchasing when I get the extra money. My wedding budget currently isnt allowing me to buy a lot unless its for the wedding. This would be something I would love to give out at the wedding if I did have that kind of money to buy and give out! Haha. A girl can wish lol.

Simple Sensitive Skin Experts Cleansing Facial Wipes

First off I do want to state that I did get a package of these from Klout as part of a Klout perk, but I also got a smaller travel sized package with 7 wipes from one of the Target beauty bags. So I feel like I can give you a good review of them because I have used up both of the packages.

With that being said you can find these wipes or any Simple products anywhere that Simple is sold. For example, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Walmart, Ulta,  ETC. I'm not sure what stores they are sold at in the UK and I am also not sure if they are available at Rite Aid because there are none in Florida. (unfortunately) These range from $4.99 to $5.99. The travel pack has 7 wipes and the regular pack has 25 wipes. I do find that these are a good value for what they cost. They are no alcohol, oill, perfumes or dyes in them, which make them ideal for people who have sensitive skin and eyes. Hence why the brand is called Simple Sensitive Skin Experts.

Per my experience with them, I thought they were fantastic! They claim to remove waterproof mascara, that is the one thing I do not find true about it. Yes it does help it come off a bit, but it does not take it completely off, you still need to use eye makeup remover to get the waterproof mascara fully off. That is my only real ish with this, since it does claim it removes it. other than that, I think this is an amazing product.

I store them upside down, that way they stay moist. I do find that these could have a bit more moisture in them, but they are good enough the way they come. This takes my foundation off (when I actually wear it) and it takes my eye makeup off with absolutely no problem. I have even used these to remove the eye liner on my water line and there is absolutely no burning at all, like I would have with other makeup wipes. All in all, I find that these are amazing. I can see why Simple is the #1 skin care brand in the UK.

These are hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic (wont clog pores), safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. They are also dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested. Meaning they are tested on for your face and eyes. They also have Pro-Vitamin B5 in them which helps restore, smooth and soften your skin.

These are not paraben free. It also has a non-drying type of alcohol in it, as well as two types of glycerin. So make sure you read the back of the package to make sure you can use them! It also says that Simple Skincare contains no animal derived ingredients. That is different then no animal testing, so keep that in mind when purchasing. Just in case you are the type of person who likes to stay away from products/companies that test on animals.

Check out Simple on their pages!:

I would love to hear what you have to say about this product!

I received this product for free from Klout and am not being paid or sponsored by Klout of Simple Sensitive Skin Experts to do this review. All opinions are 100% my OWN and nothing will ever change that. I also received a smaller "travel sized" package of these from Target Style as part of their "Summer Beauty Bag" I am not being paid or sponsored by Target either by talking about this product. I am not affiliated with any of the above mentioned companies. The Target bag was sent to me for free from their facebook page.

Beautylish's Boutique! -UPDATE

So I have something very exciting to talk about!!!

I was one of the lucky people who got early access into Beautylish's new boutique! Needless to say I was extremely excited! I was checking their site all day and at random times,  until I realized that they were going to email you when it was your turn to get in! Haha I finally got that email around MIDNIGHT this morning. I actually had fallen asleep pretty early and kept waking up at random times through the night and around midnight my body was like GET UP ITS TIME! So, I woke up haha, checked my email, saw I had it and rushed to the website.

The first boutique that they are offering is Sugarpill cosmetics. I have ALWAYS wanted to try Sugarpill and this was my opportunity! Granted I only bought 3 shadows, but I want to see what else they come out with as well.

Now you must be yelling at my about my wedding budget, but a few months back, when Beautylish had announced that they were going to be opening a boutique they had an option where people could sign up and if you got a certain amount of people you got credits toward the shop. 51 people clicked my link and signed up, thank you to everyone who clicked and signed up! <3 Because of that I wound up getting $160 in credit to the boutique and a free t-shirt.
These are the products that I wound up purchasing.

Sugarpill Loose Eye shadow in Birthday Girl

& Asylum

You must be thinking that I am crazy for a red eye shadow, I can assure you I am not. Ever since I started getting into makeup I have been wanting an amazing red eye shadow.

I also bought one of their pressed eye shadows in Love+

Yes, this one is red as well, but its a different finish. Don't judge!

I am really excited to get these shadows in the mail! I'm thinking about getting a few more, but for right now, I think I am going to hold off!

They are also doing special that if you buy their Heart Breaker palette you get their limited edition shadow in @#$%!  , now this is an exclusive limited edition shadow. First you could only get it at IMATS, now you can only get it on Beautylish.

I am excited that I was one of the FIRST people to actually order from their store! I wasnt the first, but one of! :P I would give you a peak into the store, but I am going to just leave it at this for a little while! Plus, there isnt much to look at just yet haha!

UPDATE! 8/16/12 8:46pm

Hey everyone! Just a little update! My package already shipped from Beautylish! How crazy is that!

I just got the confirmation and tracking number around 10 minutes ago.

I also wanted to say that Shrinkle, the founder behind Sugarpill also put up a blog post and there are 5 sets of lashes that are on in the  Beautylish boutique, they don't even have them on their website!  So, definitely scoop those babies up while you can!  I will put up a blog post when I get my package! <3

Shrinkle's Blog Post

Are you excited about the Beautylish shop?! Did you get priority access? I would love to hear what you think/got!

Disclaimer: I am not being paid or sponsored to talk about the above mentioned companies. All opinions are my own. The pictures of the 3 shadows that I purchased are owned my Sugarpill and I got them off of the Beautylish website. I do not own those images.

BareMinerals Update

Hello everyone!

If you saw my blog post yesterday then you know I bought the BareMinerals Getting Started Kit. I have never used BareMinerals before so I was really excited!

I played with it that night and didn't want to make any decisions then since I was using artificial light. I must say, in artificial lighting it looked awesome.

Unfortunately, using it in the daylight, its not too good, at least for me. I didn't get the coverage that I needed or wanted. Which was okay, I guess. But as soon as I stepped outside it felt horrid. Have you ever been bitten by a red ant? That burning and itchy feeling? Yeah, that was how my face felt, like it had just been stung all over by red ants. :(

Maybe I am not meant to use mineral makeup, because I had this problem with the maybelline one as well years ago.

I really really wish that it would have worked! But, we are heading back to Sephora tomorrow to return it. Will I buy something else? I'm not sure, I am very undecided on what I want. Im thinking maybe tinted moisturizer?

Its going to be for the wedding. So if you have any suggestions for me, it would be GREATLY appreciated! <3

Sephora & Ulta Haul!

Hey everyone! It has been a long time since I bought anything from Sephora.. It was Black Friday of last year to be exact, haha, and its been a while since I bought anything from Ulta. I went to Sephora initially looking for a mineral foundation that I could use for the wedding because I've just fallen out of using my liquid foundations. :/

So basically I just wandered around my Sephora for a good 20 minutes. I wound up just settling on the Bare Minerals Get Started Kit. I've never used bare Minerals before, so I am pretty freaking excited to try them out! Chris thought it was outrageous at first, until I showed him everything that was in the kit, haha then he warmed up to the idea. Plus, its for the wedding, so that helped! :P Hahah. I got the one for Light skin because the one for medium skin was too dark. Lol.

The kit comes with 2 mineral foundations in Original and Matte, Mini Prime Time foundation primer, SPF 20 concealer in Summer Bisque, mini bareMinerals READY touch up veil in translucent, Warmth All-Over Face Color, Fill flawless face brush, angles face brush, maximum coverage concealer brush, and deluxe samples of their Deep Cleansing foam and Purely nourishing moisturizer for combination skin.

That is a LOT of products in this kit! Holy crap, I really think that it is a great deal. :)

[slideshow]

I'm putting all of the pictures in as a slideshow, that way this isnt attack of the killer pictures. HAHA

So the kit all together was $68 which is a nice deal is my opinion. (don't tell me otherwise. I might shank you. I KID I KID) I am really excited to try all of these products out. Now I also got a 100 point perk, I know I should have saved them, but I was in the moment and I got a Givenchy Noir Coture mascara. IM FREAKING EXCITED. I can't even explain how excited I am. Don't judge!

Now, as for Ulta, we werent planning on going, but we were going to look for a hair trimmer for Chris. Now unfortunately we didn't find one, at least one that had the correct attachment we needed. Oh well, there is one at Walgreens that he found and wanted. I asked if I could get a couple of things from Ulta's makeup line, for that spend $17.50 get that GWP bag thats worth $88.

I picked out one of their extreme wear whipped eye shadow in cream puff. The reason I picked this one is because I had the wedding in mind and I wanted a really pretty baby pink eyeshadow base. This is it.. or at least I hope this is it. LOL. This does have shimmer in it, and just from swatching it in the car, it is absolutely beautiful! The color kind of blends out into almost nothing, but that was on the back of my hand, we will see what happens when I use it on my eye!

I also got one of their crease brushes. Let me tell you, I think this might become a favorite brush of mine. Its small enough for my crease, but its nice and soft. I believe its synthetic fibers.

Now I did get the GWP (gift with purchase) and I personally don't think its worth $88, but hey, it was free. No complaining. I wish I could have seen which kit was which that was I could choose accordingly because I wont use the blush or the lipstick that came with it. Too bloody dark for me!  Oh well. Unfortunately for me, the bag broke once I opened it. Which is a bummer.

That is my haul from today! I hope you all enjoyed seeing what I got! Expect reviews of everything soon!

Removing Nail Polish From Clothes

So, you are sitting there painting your nails like normal and all of the sudden you bump the bottle of nail polish and SPILLS everywhere. Oh no!  The first thing you want to do is grab your nail polish remover and start rubbing it out.

DO NOT DO THAT!!!

Oh man, you definitely do not want to try and rub the nail polish out while it is wet, it will only make things worse! Instead try this:

LET the nail polish dry!

No, I can promise you that I am not crazy haha. Well, maybe a little bit. Seriously though, let the nail polish dry, even though it may kill you to do that. Don't touch it!

Instead get  clear packing tape and stick it to the fabric like you're applying a hair removal wax strip Rip off the tape--the polish comes off beautifully. If you're doing this with leather goods, use a scotch tape instead of big packing tape. Then apply leather conditioner to the spot that you've stripped with the tape.

Boom shack-a-lak and you are done! =^_^= That is really all you need to do if you ever spill nail polish on your clothes. :)

St.Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control Scrub

The first one I want to talk about is one that I had a long while ago and it was abrasive on my skin, so when the tub ran out, I just didn't buy more and I ended up forgetting about it.

I saw someone talking about it on twitter and I figured that I would give it another go, I was new to skin care when I had purchased this and probably used it wrong anyways. The St.Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control scrub is what I use for my exfoliator currently. This time I just bought the tube of it. (Do they even make the tubs of it anymore?)

[slideshow]

This is oil-free and has 2% salicylic acid in it. I do still find that it is abrasive on my skin, but not as bad as before. I don't use much of this, a little goes a long way. To be completely honest, I use to mix it with my Wash Off. You need to be careful when mixing face wash's because they could have chemicals in them that react to each other and it could cause a reaction, but nothing bad ever came of me mixing the two so I continued to do it.

This is paraben and phthalates free, so that is a plus. The exfoliating aspect of this is walnut shell and corn kernel meal. I really like this scrub, has it helped to control my blackheads and blemish's? Not really, not that I've noticed at least. It doesn't dry my face out at all, but its a really nice scrub. I don't use this often, maybe once a week because it is so abrasive on my skin, but I do really like it. I more than likely will re-purchase this ones I run out of it, which will actually be very soon!

Revlon ColorStay OverTime Mascara Review

The first thing I want to say is that mascaras are different on everyone. Each person has different lashes, so this mascara make work wonders for me and not you. Or it may work like crap to me and amazingly on you. So please keep that in mind with this review. :)

This mascara is one of Revlon's newer ones. I saw this on a shelf of new products and since I was buying my coveted 3D PhotoReady, I picked this up.  The color I have it in is black. I typically only buy black mascaras, its just a preference. This one is a lengthening mascara, meaning it will help your lashes look longer. Now me personally, I don't need a lengthening mascara, I just wanted to try it, I mean why not. It never hurts to have a little extra length!

This mascara is one of the longer tubes that I have. For some people that could be a good thing. Honestly, its a bit hard to work with. The brush itself its normal, its not big and its not small so that is very nice. This mascara is supposed to be a 24 hour mascara and claims that it will not smudge,  flake or smear.

The wand itself it a typical mascara want. Its the fiber bristles. I don't have any preference towards the actual brush, so this one doesn't bother me at all. I actually like the size of it because it grabs all of the lashes nicely.

So its not too bad. You can kind of see the length of the wand, even though not really. As you can tell the formula of this mascara is dry. That is not a bad thing, some people like dry mascaras and some like wet ones. This one doesn't bother me.

My biggest ish with this mascara is that it does NOT hold a curl at all. I curl my lashes fiercely, but once I apply this, they fall. Not even curling them after the mascara drys (which you should not do), it still does not hold a curl. It makes my lashes look long and amazing, but there is just no curl at all. My other problem with this is that before it dries it transfers if you are not careful. Heck even when you are careful it transfers! It gotten it on my eye shadow, under my eyebrow, my lower lashes have transferred. Its really annoying honestly.

Don't take me the wrong way, this mascara is absolutely wonderful, but for my eye lashes it falls short. I really do want to love this mascara, but I just can't.  It doesn't smudge or flake once it dries, but until it dries keep and eye on your peepers just incase you get some transfer.

You can purchase this anywhere you can buy Revlon products. (Drugstores, Walmart, Target, Ulta, etc) It retails for around $6.79, but that also depends on where you live. Prices vary. Also remember they can vary from store to store.

Have you tried this mascara? Are you planning on trying it? I would love to know!

New Series Coming! Skin Care Routine!

Hello everyone!

I am finally starting a new series! Woo! Party people! Lol.

So, Im going to extend this series over the course of... goodness I have no idea, there is a lot to talk about. I was going to do a review/overview of all of the face washes, but then I decided to give them all their own blog post, that way you all can become better acquainted with the face wash aspect of my skincare routine.

I was thinking of doing this series twice a week, Figure Saturday and Wednesday. Does that sound kosher?

The reason I say twice a week is because there is a lot of stuff to talk about and I don't want to extend this over the course of a few months.

Im going to cover Face washes, moisturizers, toners, and treatments. Each one is going to have its own blog post, unless I've already talked about it before, then I will just re-think everyone to it when it is time!

I am really excited about doing this! I hope you all enjoy what is to come! <3

Review: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

I posted a picture the other day on instagram of the two Neutrogena products that I had just purchased at Target.  I am here to give you a review of the first one I tried.     The Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash in pink grapefruit is what this review is going to be all about. Now this is my first Neutrogena face wash that I have ever tried. I didn't have high expectations, but I had some. Well, really I wanted it to be amazing, is that a lot to ask for? Haha. Well, honestly, this fell kind of flat for me. There is a scent of grapefruit, but as you rub it in, it gets an old granny kind of smell. Actually a nursing home smell is what it reminds me of, it also reminds me of the Method Pink Grapfruit dish detergent. That is the first thing I picked up, so the scent is not doing it for me. I feel like I am putting something that you should be washing your dishes with on your face. D:   You will see a trend with my skincare products. So there is no surprise that this has 2% salicylic acid in it, which is used for the treatment of acne. The consistency of this is a gel cleanser, and it has a pump on the top. I really prefer those kinds of dispenser. I always use less when there is a pump.  I paid around $8 for this at Target it is 6 FL OZ (177mL). This face wash is one of their more expensive ones, maybe because of the grapefruit aspect. I have no idea. Other than the old granny nursing home scent, I kind of don't like this face wash at all. It looks like I've barely used it, but after a week, I Just can't stand it anymore! The only breakouts it has give me, is this one huge pimple that just doesn't want to go away, but I am dealing with it on its own. Other than that, my only complaint is that it made me even more oily! It wound up drying my skin out, mainly in my cheeks, I barely get oily on my cheeks, but oh my goodness. Chris even noticed that my face was oilier than normal and when he notices something you know its time to just give it up! It didn't agitated my skin or anything like that, I've heard those claims about this product, but it just made my skin product more sebum (oil). Its not a good look at all! When I say it dried my cheeks out, I really mean it. They felt  dry, and the skin was VERY tight. It was so weird, I've never had that happen from a face wash before!  Thank goodness for a moisturizer, but even using one to balance out my skin again, I still got really oily, and really quick at that. About 10 minutes after I washed my face I was a grease-ball. I jumped in the pool yesterday and felt my face and all you could feel was oil. It felt like  I stuck my face in cooking oil, it was that bad. There really are no redeeming qualities about this product for me. I love the smell of grapefruit, but its an old granny/nursing home/dish soap kind of smell and its very strong. Its actually sickeningly strong at first. I really really do want to like this product, but I just can't deal with my face being/feeling so oily.

You can purchase this anywhere that you can get Neutrogena including Ulta. Do I recommend this? No, its really hard for me to recommend something that just was not good for me. Other people love it however because it has an Allure Editors Choice Award from 2009. So, you can try it if you would like, but in my own personal opinion, stay away.
